Rams lose Diggs for the season
St. Louis Rams LB Na'il Diggs tore his pectoral muscle in the Rams' 19-6 win over Arizona yesterday, and will miss the rest of the season as he goes through a 5 month long recovery process.
David Vobora, the incumbent SLB from last season, or Larry Grant will replace Diggs in the lineup.
Ron Bartell is day to day, which is good news. Hopefully, he'll recover in time to play against New Orleans. Jerome Murphy, Craig Dahl, Kenneth Darby and Jason Smith are also day to day. Smith has a sprained ankle, but is expected to practice this week. LB Chris Chamberlain has an injured, not broken, wrist forcing him to wear a cast, but he's expected to play.
Losing Diggs makes the Rams a little weaker at OLB, already a tender underbelly of their defense. Hopefully, Vobora regains the level of play he showed last year replacing Diggs in the starting lineup.

Yeesh!
That’s a shame. I really liked Diggs, as he had great size as a run defender. Kehl will probably get some looks again at WLB, and I would certainly vote Vobora to take over at SLB.
this is there game of the year for the rams
old time rivalry that will be another good one. bradford will shine in this game and the defense will stand tall and dominate. spags had them keep it close last year and this year we know how to win. the d can stop brees and force them to run and ultimately punt and amendola and dx will do there thing and hell even gibson can hold onto the ball now. we are rolling into the playoffs. we finish 10-6 this year with a big team effort.
I don't think this is a big deal
Diggs never made many plays anyways. He is no way irreplaceable. The only thing we will miss is depth.
I don't love to hate you T.O. I just hate you.

I think he brings experience
and Play recognition. He’d yell “screen!” Play action!" etc. He doesn’t have the speed to get to the ball carrier, but he helps the younger players get to it.
PS This is pure speculation lol.

Diggs was a veteran leader
and our best OLB on a weak group of OLB’s. This hurts.
"I kind of stepped my swagger up. You look at the Madden game and the swagger's so low, maybe they'll bump me up. Before it was a meatball flex, so you've got to liven it up a little bit." - Animal Jr.
He's not irreplaceable,
but he’s damn near close to it on the Rams.

OT: I saw your rant on Sando's blog
Way to represent.

Absolutely.
Ignorant ass dude.

Yay someone picked up on my sarcasm!

You don't need to call the man an idiot
Stay classy. Your argument was pretty solid. Remember, we’re Rams fans. We’re inherently better than 49er fans. We don’t need to call them idiots or dumbasses.

I agree...
…and it wasn’t helpful to hear the announcers of yesterday’s game talk about how Paris Lenon is the most consistent Cards LB.

whoa slow down
Diggs may not have made huge plays but his knowledge from being a vet helped a lot. He knows where to be. And i think he was in carolina with foilje so he knows the d well. Plus i don’t remember him missing many tackles

Score
should be 19-6, gotta give the rams the full scoreline, it wasn’t close lol
it will be interesting to see how this team responds
for better our worse, we still need to find ways to win…. it’s the playoffs!
The only thing comparable to a Rams win is a 49er loss!
Reggie Bush will shred us if he's healthy.
I’m afraid of the runs to the outside.
This will be a nice challenge for us.
I can take a beating ... I'm a Rams fan.
The two positions we absolutely have to fix
are WR and OLB. Once we get them fixed through FA or the draft, then we can talk about the other positions that need to be strengthened. Diggs isn’t great, but he was steady and seldom got blown out. Losing him will hurt.
