2011 NFL Pro Bowl: Rams blackballed
The pains of being a small market team, a small market team that hasn't won very much lately. Polls closed this week for the 2011 NFL Pro Bowl, and not surprisingly, there were no players from the St. Louis Rams on the list of top vote getters. Democracy doesn't work, when will people learn!
Rookie QB Sam Bradford was the second leading rookie vote getter, behind the Lions' Ndamnukong Suh. Bradford received 305, 721 votes to Suh's 405,597. Taking nothing away from Suh's amazing rookie season, but people, Bradford's the third rookie QB to pass for more than 3,000 yards...and how many wins do the Rams have versus the Lions?
The horror. The horror.
There's still some hope left for the Rams players. The NFL will announce the complete 2011 Pro Bowl rosters on December 28. Stay tuned to TST that day for some trumped out outrage.

Every team will have at least one player.
I wonder who ours will be?
I can take a beating ... I'm a Rams fan.
I can't imagine the coaches and players leaving out Laurinaitis, Long, and Hall.
All three of those guys deserve to go, and probably will. I’m not sure about big Donnie, and I think Steven has a good chance of getting in.
Atogwe should at least get a look around too
he’s quietly been under-appreciated by many fans, but coaches and people with an ounce of football knowledge recognise how consistently awesome he has been for us.
Bradford to Onobun!
in nfc name a lb not called pwilly more deserving of a pro bowl spot?
name a DE more deserving?
in the AFC it’s a different story… but in the NFC JL is a top 3 performer right now, as are Long and Hall.
I can only think of Peppers who is better than Long and Hall…
Bradford to Onobun!
How many rookie qb's played the same # of minutes
and games. Let’s look at stats based on a time range that is actually broken down in time.
Brad’s will be good, hopefully franchise Peyton Manning Field General. Peyton is sooooo good because he is a field General and scheme breaker-downer type thinker. He does not have skills liek Donovon, or some of these runner type qb’s, but he knows “The Game” and knows that studying is better than anything else, mentally.
Suh – I was one of those Rams whiners hoping Suh was chosen first. I am not complaining about having Brads, but I sure love Tebow and McCoy and Clausen too. I just felt we needed one position over another, but bottom line is – like many posters were rational about – is that Rams need sooooo much talent, that probably a couple more drafts and free agencies are needed before Rams are really considered a year-in and year-out Division favorite, Conference favorite and hopefully YA BABY!
Critical Reality, gotta love passion and desire to be better every day.
At this current moment
Sam Bradford is not one of the top 3 quarterbacks in the NFC and does not deserve to be in the Pro Bowl this year. Be real. We have Vick, Brees, Rodgers, Ryan, and Cutler all fighting for that spot. Sam’s probably going to develop into a pro bowl player, but its ridiculous to think that he deserves to be in it this year.
I have some gripe about Steven Jackson though. He’s a perennial fan favorite around the league, and I don’t understand why he was snubbed this year. Adrian Peterson is really the only back better than Jackson in the NFC, in my opinion.
On defense, besides possibly J Lau, the Rams really don’t have any pro bowl caliber players. With the way we put pressure on New Orleans, I don’t think Hall and Long would do squat against a pro bowl offensive line. Atogwe might deserve a nod though, perhaps in reserve?
I don't think we had any last year, did we?
I thought it was baseball that required one from every team, not the NFL. I’ll be very surprised if any Rams make the team. The only one with a chance is Jackson, and I hope he makes it since he has done so well for so long on bad teams.
Jackson won last season, but didn't play.
I don’t see any of the Rams getting in this year sadly. :(
