These Rams are so much more competitive than previous teams

Do you all realize that if we include this years preseason games, the 2010 St. Louis Rams are 8-7? Do you also realize that even with seven losses on our overall record, the Rams have held the lead in EVERY game except for the drubbing they took against the Detroit Lions?

The 34-17 loss against the Falcons was a lot closer than the final score shows. We had the lead until there were two minutes left in the third quarter. We were a "shovel" away from digging our way to within 3 points with 3:24 left in the game.

In the 23-20 loss to San Fransicko we tied the game on the final play of regulation with a 33 yard field goal but if Daniel Fells can hang on to that pass with 35 seconds left some fans argue he could have scored the go ahead touchdown. We would have at least had a goal to go situation. Needless to say, I was extremely pissed that we lost that game. Did I ever tell you guys that I HATE the 49ers?

That loss to Tampa Bay, well...how in the hell do you lead 17-3 with 2:59 left in the second quarter and not score another point the rest of the way? And to give up the go ahead touchdown with 10 seconds left after watching a field-goal-a-thon throughout the second half really hurt. REALLY HURT!

The 16-14 loss to the Raiders was just ugly. A missed field goal early in the game were the points that made the difference. Our defense did so well, we caused the Raiders prized free agent aquisition Jason Campbell to get benched 2 games into the season. The string of ugly penalties didn't help in keeping some of the Raiders drives alive and making Gradkowski look better than he really is. Would of been nice to go to the Black Hole and come out with a W.

In the 17-13 loss to Arizona to open the season, we had the lead until 6:13 left in the game. Just makes you wonder how that game would have turned out had Clifton Ryan hung on to the ball during his fumble return and if Adrian Wilson hadn't blocked that field goal. We had the ball at the end of the game twice and put a lot of pressure on our rookie quarterback Sam Bradford to try and perform a fourth quarter comeback in his first NFL regular season game. He threw two interceptions late in the game trying to force the issue but overall he performed admirably for it being his first game.

In our 28-7 preseason loss to the Vikings Danny Amendola returned a punt late in the first quarter for a TD that allowed to go into the second quarter with a 7-0 lead. The Vikings scored 28 straight points on us after that but it was only preseason with Bradford sharing minutes with Feeley, Thad Lewis and Keith Null.

I like the way this years Rams actually give us a chance to feel like we can win every game and actually take the lead instead of it being a blowout by halftime and making us lose interest. Another thing that I like is the fact that we compete with good teams which I think bodes well for us in the playoffs. Consider that including the preseason, we have already beaten the Seattle Seahawks, San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins, New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. Don't forget that the Patriots kept their starters in during the entire first half of that preseason game and we legitimately outplayed them. Good teams that we have lost to include the Falcons, Niners and Bucs. Even though the Niners are having a down year, I still consider them a good team that needs better coaching.

I want to thank the Rams front office for making the offseason moves that they have made and Steve Spagnuolo for changing the culture of St. Louis Ramsland. Hopefully we can finish the season strong and host our first playoff game since 2003!

God Bless our St. Louis Rams!
