PrintTerrible. That's the only way to describe the St. Louis Rams so far today.
A two-minute offense that runs it straight up the middle. Chiefs defenders sitting out the Rams unwillingness to throw anything but short routes. The Rams offense had 9 yards in the second quarter, and that seems generous.
Worst of all, the Rams have 6 penalties on the day so far, three from RT Jason Smith. Easily one of the worst halves by the Rams this season.
Let's hope Spagnuolo dials up something different and can rally his troops in the locker room. They're only down by 8 points, the same number the offense left on the field settling for field goals after two scoring drives in the first half.

Danario Alexander and Brandon Gibson SUCK
DAX coulda jumped on that long ball, but was not thinking that a defender would be sliding over from the side to intercept. Pffft, he just thought he could keep runnin like FORREST GUMP and the ball would majically be in his hands. Nope, db’s are there, so look over while your running for the open position in the field.
Gibson – needs to catch and tuck, catch and tuck – he fails to understand the basic philosophy in “how to catch any ball”

yes and no
we have other issues and holes etc but his playcalling kills drives and momentum no doubt about it. He is absolutely unable to get creative or ballsy at all and when you have holes like we do creativity is a necessity.

teams have adjusted… we haven’t figured it out. The longer the season goes, the more tape teams have on you and the more they see your tendencies.

Big issue with dink and dunk
is one penalty almost 100% guarantees a stalled drive. That happened so far twice today, and MANY times this season.

The Saints showed everyone how to play defense agaisnt the Rams. Since the Rams haven’t shown a willingness to even try to go deep, teams are loading up the box to stop SJax and pressure Sam. Shurmur needs to drop some LCD or something to wake up the creative side of his brain.

I’d like the Chiefs. They have a stout defense and top tier running game, and weapons all over the field. Shouldn’t be surprised they’re playoff bound and one of the stories of this season.
