Rams @ Saints: fourth quarter game thread
It's officially out of control for the St. Louis Rams.
Now, do you pull back on the reps for Steven Jackson or even Sam Bradford with the game out of hand? Too much like admitting failure? I'd at least get SJ out of there.
You can try and cover these Saints with your secondary all you want, but unless you have an effective pass rush, they're going to beat you anyway. The Rams have nothing on the rush today. Add speed at DE to your list of Rams draft needs, too.

He usually throws it away when there’s nothing there. I guess he knows in the back of his head that the Rams won’t run the ball in the redzone

I’d give it to the saints due to the fact that they’ve already done it. plus they have a few more weapons & brees.

there is a reason why sam bradford is thought of so highly by us.
this is a guy who has won a heisman and was drafted #1 overall. he has the skills and yet he keeps working and frickin chases down defensive backs. any time you have someone with great skill who also hustles and works hard then you know have a keeper.
there’s a reason why guys like peyton are so good. they have the ability and the work ethic. bradford has it too
u can bet that Bradford wont accept this game
he always wants to improve
"Why not just throw an empty glove down at the shortstop position, it would be cheaper and have better range." - justin007000
oh, of course
he hasn’t had a good game. but most guys would’ve quit on that play. he’s already thrown two red zone interceptions, he’s down by 25, why risk pulling a hamstring or something?
Two redzone INTs
we could’ve been up 27-24
by Smoooth Criminal on Dec 12, 2010 5:57 PM CST reply actions
that is why the future is so great
if we had a great receiver then sam could’ve thrown a fade and probably had a td both times.
better protection would’ve been good too. and, of course, he’s still a rookie.
I would rather we run the ball when we're this close
by Smoooth Criminal on Dec 12, 2010 6:00 PM CST up reply actions
same, but that wasn't working out
plus if it gets to 3rd down and you still need 10 yards or so then you don’t run it

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. no i don't
i mean, i understand we can have opinions and not everyone agrees but to act like spags is applauding losing is plain dumb.
spags has been a genius for us and i don’t think a loss to the saints in the superdome is enough for you to start acting like he’s some dunderhead.
it’s really frustrating hearing how pejorative you are all the time.
there is only good things to see in this team considering last season and you’re talking like we’re pants with no direction.
cut the dudes some slack man, besides the turnovers we kept up with the saints, and defensively we were without our best cb, replaced him with QUINCY butler and still picked off brees twice.
just lay off it a bit.

With all the the things you could get pissed off about this game, you pick a coach clapping after a bad play.
It really shows your maturity level.
I'll say it again. I never saw "immature" guys like Lombardi or Landry clapping after a bad play. And you and your mature lackey let me know when you see Bill Belichick do it.
who cares?
just because those guys are stern and don’t applaud bad plays it’s their style.
Spags is a players coach who applauds good things in bad plays, it’s also just a motivational thing, it’s not something like “well done sam, that INT was excellent” it’s like “come on Sam let’s make it a TD next time”
jesus.
Bradford to Onobun!
Even if they are not
SF is only 1 loss team in the division. Gulls are only team we can have out right head to head advantage over. Rest of gulls schedule is brutal. Only break they get is that Falcons might not have to beat them.
no question san fran
probably talent wise the best team in the division.

Kind of a wake up call today.
We’ve been getting a bit too much ahead of ourselves lately. This is not a good NFL caliber team. It’s a mediocre team (which is a big step forward) in a lousy division with an easy schedule.
That’s okay, the future is bright.

The Rams are near the top of the league in red zone appearances per game. When they learn how to convert them into TDs we’ll put up more points. The Rams don’t have a go to play in the Red Zone.
by Smoooth Criminal on Dec 12, 2010 6:21 PM CST up reply actions
a better receiver and better run blocking would do it
team with someone like colston, andre, megatron. you can just throw it up to them and it’s almost impossible to defend if the throw is right.
if the rams had scored that drive, there's a 7 points taken out of the saints score
and also, brees was intercepted twice. bradford had more passing yards than brees. now, imagine if bartell had played today, i’m sure things would have been better. I don’t really understand how today was so bad
I'm not trolling, just being sarcastic.
by hr on Dec 12, 2010 6:18 PM CST up reply actions
Two INT's, no pass rush, we scored only 13 points and lost 18 points. What would you call a bad day??
that vs the cards or some garbage team that didn't win the superbowl last year IN THEIR STADIUM
sam is a rookie too and considering how awesome he’s been we’ve been spoiled.
new orleans isn’t an easy place to play for peyton manning or tom brady let alone a rookie.
Bradford to Onobun!
Some how the Cards beat these guys and the 49ers almost did. Sam, who is great, had his second poor showing in a row today. He'll admit it too.
comes with being a rookie.
I really think him running down harper was a big sign of things to come. someone who doesn’t give up when most others would have. even if that play had been with the game still in reach a lot of guys would have given up. the fact that he still took off after him with the game all but over makes me even more excited, despite his bad game.
remember that the saints won the super bowl last year
this coupled with the fact that we had a decent chance of winning makes this game not too hard to swallow. in contrast, the lions game was absolute shit because we lost without a chance to a less than average team
I'm not trolling, just being sarcastic.
