Random Ramsdom, 12/11: Ready for New Orleans

The St. Louis Rams take on the New Orleans Saints this week. Are they ready for the challenge?

Need a little something to kill the time between now and tomorrow's game? Well, how about a nice little collection of reading materials firmly focused on the St. Louis Rams...and a little 2011 NFL Draft talk just for good measure. Don't forget, there's college football action today too, starting with the Army-Navy game at 1:30 p.m. ET and the Heisman Trophy ceremony tonight.

Future defensive coordinator James Laurinaitis
Amazing. The Rams really turn to James Laurinaitis on the field to manage the defense, everything from setting the front four to coverages. This guy could be a defensive coordinator.

Star-divide

Spags vs. Spags
The PD roundtable considers the changes in Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo. One thing not mentioned here that I notice is that he's a much more vocal advocate for his team on the sidelines now, willing to work the refs as needed.

Steven Jackson featured on Fox NFL pre-game this week

Fox Sports' Pam Oliver has a sit down with Steven Jackson on the pre game show this week. Here's a little preview.

Heisman jinx

Sure, Sam Bradford's off to a rookie of the year-like start, but most of the recent Heisman winners are on the bench.

Bradford recalls Heisman experience

Bradford recounts his Heisman trophy weekend. Did you know he's also a Heisman voter?

Ndamukong Suh comment
Drafting Bradford was absolutely the right thing to do for the Rams, IMO. However, predictions that Suh was a once in a lifetime prospect were not hyperbole. That's pretty impressive for a draft to have two players of that caliber as the first two picks. Teams are already drawing up game plans based on Suh.

Top 32 NFL Draft prospects
Scouts, Inc. posts their top 32 draft prospects on the ESPN draft page. The only WR on the list is A.J. Green.

Saturday morning mock draft
It's never too early for a mock draft. This one from DraftTek has the Rams picking Cal RB Shane Vereen.
