Game ball of the week: Danny Amendola
It's been a rough year to be a wide receiver for the St. Louis Rams. The team's injured reserve list is filled with pass catchers. Add to that the extra scrutiny they face from a city and an expanding fan base hungry for wins.
This week, that unit had a decent enough outing against what might be the best team in the NFC. And so the game ball goes to Danny Amendola.
Amendola finished the game with 8 catches on 8 targets. That puts his season catch rate at 81.9 percent. Absolutely astonishing. His three game TD streak ended, but he did pick up some key first downs and his 33-yard punt return set up a Rams scoring drive.
No Rams receiver has finished the season with more than 90 receptions since Torry Holt caught 93 passes in 2007. Amendola is on pace for 96 catches this year. He's a big reason the Rams have been able to move the ball this year.

Did anybody hear D"Marco Farr's comments about the kick return game?
I’m on Thanksgiving vacation in NY so I had to listen to the game on my satellite radio. But Farr and the announcer dude were very critical of the kickoff return game saying that we need to block better and that it’s unacceptable for our offense to start at our own 20 EVERY single time. Don’t know if he’s the St. Louis TV guy so this might be old news, but does anybody who saw the game have an opinion on this?

oh absolutely
the KR is pathetic
the problem is Danny starts looking to juke as soon as he gets it. He kinda tiptoes behind his blockers, who are also tiptoeing towards the coverage team.
I would guess on half the returns
we didn’t even make it to the 20. What’s more, Amendola dropped one and only made it to the 7 yd. line. Not once did our KO return look like it was going anywhere. It was pathetic. In fact, it was so bad that when Amendola finally decided not to bring one out and took a knee in the end zone, the crowd cheered.
Game ball?
Although I do think Amendola is a good player and I like him. With that being said, my question is this. Why do we give out game balls when we lose? If we lose no one should be getting a game ball. They do that every game on the Rams web. I for one do not believe in giving out game balls when we lose.
+1
I can take a beating ... I'm a Rams fan.

Especially not when no one was outstanding.
If someone gained 120 yards and scored a couple of TDs, or if someone had a couple of sacks, caused a turnover, and generally caused chaos for the other team, then maybe. But when no one had a really good day, and the Rams looked outclassed, then no one should get a game ball.
he gave out a gameball because it sponsored by Sprint
so he has to do it if he wants SB Nation to make money (and by all means I’m sure he does…)
