Give him the ball!

Michael Salfino put it best when he said, "Steven Jackson owners [and Rams fans] should be ticked."  Find out why, and a stunning statistic on Steven Jackson, here.

The Rams are not effective

running the ball in these short yardage situations. The Atlanta defense was ready for Jackson. Passing it was the right call here, it’s a higher percentage play putting it in Bradford’s hands rather than Jackson’s. Now, the shovel pass, probably not their best option. But it did catch the Falcons off guard, and, if properly executed, would’ve gone for 6.

3k - Can't disagree

however Ram_Country has a valid point…. can you say “Guard” come April?

Pooch punts should be illegal inside an opponents 38 yard line.

?

How’d I get pulled into this? And yes, guard is a legitimate draft option. Van threw it out on Turf Show Radio about a month ago or so. I haven’t decided which position to look at for this week’s big board – G, DE, DT or OLB.

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

Disagree

SJax only gets better with reps. The more he gets will help slow down the pass rush and help Sammy. We now have a bit of a passing game we needed to get 9 out of the box and we got away from running the ball. Could use a little more balance, IMO. Atlanta is a better team but we played a competetive game. Go Rams

jackson needs carries

11 times for one of the best in the league. that is why we lose these games. i want to see him get the ball atleast 20 times so he can wear down the d line

can't wear down a D line going 3 and out

The run blocking is inadequate, if we could play smash mouth football we would be. We have seen over the course of the season a gradual shift to the passing game as it gives us the best chance of moving the chains. Our O-line is not yet complete.

The only thing comparable to a Rams win is a 49er loss!

I would have to guess that the coaches probably know something we don't

playing Jackson was never something they shyed away from…. I remember many conversations on here about using him too much at making it impossible to spread the defense. I went to the game yesterday, and the whole time he was practicing catching he was doing it one handed. I really think they are just trying to be careful with that hand of his right now and keep it from being overly brutilized while healing.

Running the ball

is effective with SJAX. The problem is we do it nearly everytime it is predictable. He should have a minimum of 17-20 carries per game. There has to be a bit more balance. If the coaches do know more then play Darby more. SJAX as a decoy only lasts so long before teams realize he is not an option. Personally I think it’s like a little kid with a shiney new toy they want to show their friends. Just so happens that Shurmur’s new toy is Bradford. On a side note one thing that drives me crazy is on every hitch or curl Gibson catches he takes a step back then tries to go up field. Take a page from Amendola and turn up right away.

agree but he's learning right now

and he’s made leaps and bounds improvement from 5 games ago. Remember when we got excited if he held on to a ball thrown his way…lol?

I've noticed that we seem to always pass when SJ has a fullback in front of him and run from a single back set.

Again … if I notice this, doesn’t the other team?

I can take a beating ... I'm a Rams fan.
