I see a lot of negative attitudes, remarks and even bickering between fellow TST'ers. I'll admit, I'm also pissed but let's take a look a look at where we are at.
With this loss to the Niners, we are now 4-5 all by ourselves in second place. We are in the NFC West, yes, it is a VERY weak division. I can see all the teams in the division losing their games next week. Arizona goes to KC, Tampa Bay comes to Frisco and the Seahawks go to New Orleans while we welcome the Falcons to the friendly confines of the Edward Jones Dome.
The Rams have done well at home this year and we only have 3 home games left (Atlanta, Kansas City and San Franciso). Yes the Horned Ones need to show us that we are capable of winning a road game if we want to see the playoffs this year. We have four road games left against Denver, New Orleans, Arizona and Seattle. I honestly feel the way we have been competing and keeping games close that we can pull off at least 2 road wins. I am not scared of facing the Falcons or Saints because the Rams have stood tall against good teams this year. We have already beaten Washington, Seattle and San Diego. Hell, we almost beat New Orleans last year WITHOUT SAM BRADFORD and they won the Super Bowl.
Looking at the schedules of all the NFC West teams, I honestly feel that 8-8 will win the division. I think the 49ers and Cardinals have peaked and will go away. If we can go into Seattle for week 17 tied with identical records of 7-8 and beat them we will have the tie-breaker. As far as people saying that they don't want to make the playoffs to get wiped out in the first round and lose draft position, I have to completely disagree. We play for the playoffs. Season ticket holders buy tickets to see the team win.
While we are on the subject of the draft, let's worry about this season and finish it off with a positive instead of talking about who we can take next year. We are all bored during the off season because there is no football to talk about. There will be plenty of time to talk about the draft then.
