cmon now lets get it done guys!

Sam Bradford drops back, sees Laurent Robinson in the open, and he completes the pass for a gain of 28! Oh- Wait, looks like a holding penalty is going to call this one back...(Oh wait; Barron's gone, ignore that last sentence).

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

we definitely didn’t play great

by stlcardsfan4 on Nov 14, 2010 6:51 PM CST up reply actions

playing like we had a 14 point lead instead of 7 in the 4th

This is why we got beat. Way too afraid of making a mistake on offense and playing into the hands of the defense. We’ll never win a game like this trying to hold on. We lack that kind of talent. We should be taking the chance at winning. I could accept that kind of defeat. Losing like this flat puts me over the edge. If I had a dog I’d kick it. This loss is 100% on the coaching.

couldn’t do anything. It’s not should’ve been 4th down 9ers and a punt not a PI call

by Smoooth Criminal on Nov 14, 2010 6:53 PM CST up reply actions

running the first two plays of overtime wasn't bright.

Once again we were afraid to let Sam make a play and we settled for not moving the chains. Give Bradford three shots and I believe he moves the chains. Give him one shot it’s a 50/50 chance. The Niners had Jackson figured out so running him in sudden death was a wasted opportunity running him twice proved to be a wasted game. Why must we be so conservative when the games are on the line? We’ll never win on the road with our defense- at home sure it works but on the road we need to quit sitting on leads.

welcome to real football

The Rams played a statement game today against a team that was willing to make a statement of their own. Take your hats off to both teams. The Rams are on the cusp of becoming a successful franchise. The 49ers are a talented team who are piss poorly coached. We were that close to taking over earlier than we should. Welcome to the future, TST.

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. Such is media simplicity

Don’t expect the media to delve into the reality of NFL football. Otherwise, the closeness of the Raiders and Bucs road games would suggest this Rams team is that close to being one of the best teams in the NFC.

Our coaches are fucking awful at everything that’s not defense. Daniel Fells cost us the game.
So Week 1- Clifton Ryan cost us the game
Week 2- Fred Robbins/Refs cost us the game.
Week whenever TB was- Two players fighting for an INT cost us the game
This week- Daniel Fells having no balls cost us the game.
We should be 8-1 right now

its like you're reading my mind

what the fuck is wrong with josh brown if he can’t kick a 52 yard field goal?

by stlcardsfan4 on Nov 14, 2010 6:58 PM CST up reply actions

We had our chances to win.

We failed to get any points after the blocked punt, despite getting the ball at the SF 37.

We could have iced the game with a time-killing drive when we had the ball with 6 minutes left, but Gibson showed poor field awareness by not moving upfield on third down.

And, Bradford misconnected with Fells on what looked like a chance for him to walk into the endzone on the eventual game-tying drive.

That said, BOTH teams did everything they could to give this game away . But what really stings the most is that awful PI call in OT. The ball was beyond uncatchable. Just a heartbreaking game, on so many counts.

how about when we should have gone for

the field goal when they did the dump fake field goal punt turned into delay of game…it would have been 52 yards easily in Brown’s range

by phx suns on Nov 14, 2010 6:57 PM CST up reply actions

the secondary is shit

that crabtree catch in the 4th Bartell was 2-3 yards behind him the entire route…troy smith looked like peyton manning out there

Sorry guys

This isn’t on Shurmur. This isn’t on Spags. We were in position to make it happen and we didn’t. That’s the hard truth. It sucks, but that’s how real football is played. And we’re almost there. We are. I’m more optimistic after this game than after any loss this season. We showed what we could do. We showed what we wanted to do. And we showed what we believed in, and that’s a comprehensive team effort. Parliament just said it: both teams were in position to pull out a W, but in the end, it was an interference call that made the difference. Buck up. There’s plenty of football left.

Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

i agree

stop blaming the coaches.

only people to blame are the asshole refs. and we have 2 days to get over that bullshit call and then look to making the biggest statement in the league by trouncing an excellent ATL team.

I do agree 3k, I really do

But not kicking the FG I think was a scratchy call at best. 52 yards is not a long field goal.. and to pooch punt? We have the best punter in the league and we have Josh Brown pooch punting…

I donno man… I’m still on the wagon, but that was a mistake by Spags. Josh Brown is about as good as it gets at 50+ and a 10 point lead would have been HUGE.

but doesn't Brown have a groin problem

I would definately take my chances on a 50 yd FG by him unless I thought he had some sort of problem and wouldn’t be able to kick the ball that far.

SJax and Samford

are race horses, and our play calling is holding them back. I thought when you’re playing on the road you’re supposed to open it up a bit. I would have loved to see Spags let them loose with the game on the line. Even if it hadn’t have worked out, it would feel better than losing like this.

by CFB_fan on Nov 14, 2010 7:04 PM CST up reply actions

Thats exactly why I am pissed off

we should have won this game and didn’t. We haven’t turned any corner this week that we didn’t already turn already this year. We need to all share the absolute 49er hatred in the lockerroom. No way this shoulda happened.

by dbcouver on Nov 14, 2010 7:01 PM CST up reply actions

actually we did.

we had 2nd half offense and scored points.

iif thats any consolation. my blame lies on cockless refs.

by Infemous on Nov 14, 2010 7:02 PM CST up reply actions

Yes, we did.

What we didn’t have was any semblance of an offense with playing with the lead.

by Spielman on Nov 14, 2010 7:06 PM CST up reply actions

I'll agree we can't blame the refs

At least not tottally. I mean that was a BS call, but we should never have seen OT. Youre right it is on the players, accept for that pooch punt call instead of the fieldgoal.

by dbcouver on Nov 14, 2010 7:03 PM CST up reply actions

No, we can blame the refs.

Would have have won if that wasn’t called? Who knows, but it sure as hell wouldn’t have ended like that.

This wasn’t real football. This is the NFC West.

And “showing what we wanted to do” or “what we believed in”? Not worth the bandwidth it took to say.

by Spielman on Nov 14, 2010 7:10 PM CST up reply actions

it's 100% on Spags!

His team; his responsibility. Not saying we’d for sure won if we’d been a little more daring on offense but I do know we were with in one drive of putting them out of the game and we avoid taking chances to do so. Believing our defense could hold on didn’t work in Tampa so why not try giving the offense a chance? I mean we know what happens with our defense late in the game trying to hold onto a 4 point lead. Why not let Sam, the guy you’re paying the money, try to make a throw for a change. Ugh. We just need some better receivers and we’ll start scoring more than 20 points. Still I hate seeing offensive play calls lacking any balls and that’s what I saw in the 4th from the Rams.

by Sggladden on Nov 14, 2010 7:38 PM CST up reply actions

i feel sick. 5-4 would have felt so good

and pulling this game out would have been great- ultimately they asked the D to do too much- and that las call on OJ was ridiculous.

by thehalobender on Nov 14, 2010 6:58 PM CST reply actions

We have a problem

When we don’t bring an absolute killer instinct to this game. We let up on pass defense. We lost concentration on offense with drops and blocking. We should have won the game in regulation with a GW FG. The call was BS but I don’t think we have the passion against the 49ers that I have personally. I love my team but we SHOULD have absolutely won this dam game

but the Rams had so many chances to win the game it’s not funny.

This is one of the most frustrating things about this team. They’ve been better than we had any right to expect, but at the same time, they still keep doing the little things to keep them from winning games like this.

Goats are:

(1) Gibson for blowing 1st downs by backing up instead of advancing the ball. (2) Fells for dropping a sure winning TD pass. (3) Ed Hochculi for being blind.

AND, something was wrong with SJax on running plays today. He’s hurt.

O-line deserves 5 red arrows today to call each of them out. That was horrible blocking, both in the run and passing game.

by Camo702 on Nov 14, 2010 7:13 PM CST reply actions

For all of those blaming the refs, this game should never have been in OT

If Gibson understood the concept of running for a 1st down, Fells catches an easy ball, or Bradford manages to connect with a wide open Amendola, we win in regulation.

by bailorg on Nov 14, 2010 7:23 PM CST reply actions

Okay, but it's much easier to blame one of the worst calls of the year

then some poor execution. Those plays would have helped, but the pass interference was the obvious game winner. That was fucking retarded.

Well Bradford getting hit in the head screwed that play with Amendola.

Should have been a 15 yard penalty but the refs missed it. Of course they never miss us on pass interference.
