NFL Week 10: Early game open thread
With a goodly amount of Californios among the TST faithful, I suppose that late games really aren't all that late, and, in fact, might be preferred to those games starting at 9 a.m.
Wherever you're living, here's a little home away from home for yakking it up during the day's first slate of games. May your fantasy team rack up a ton of points before the St. Louis Rams command your attention in a late game by the Bay with big implications for the division.
On a personal note, sorry I've been a little MIA this week, but big ups, Ali G style, to VT, ram_rod, Tevin and man, myth, legend...3k. We're all fans first and this is a community effort, a fan effort, so all glory to all the people, the fans, who make this place what it is.
Now that I've kissed your ass, be sure to double, nay, triple you Rams intake with TST on Twitter and that other web site that the kid from "The Squid and the Whale" starred in as a computer whiz.

I expect to hear a full report
of how you get kicked out of the game for being such a loud and avid Rams fan that you cause the whole stadium to revolt against you…just kidding…kinda
Lucky you
My dad had a friend (Ram Hater) up there and would go watch the game with him at Kesar Stadium.
Huge Huge game...
Dear Rams,
Please do nor let Gore run crazy all over the field.
Thank you,
Giantdonkey
Man, all the good games are late...
I decided to watch jets browns
It is the hillis show, he is a monster!
Just saw a commercial saying that Fox Sports was the greatest collection of sports channels
in the world. That’s funny, because their presentation of NFL football makes it unwatchable due to annoying announcers who scream into the mic everywhere (for example, turn on the Bears-Vikings game right now) and a failure to show good games (all they show are the Vikings, Cowboys, or Giants). Their presentation of college football is only slightly less atrocious, and their national MLB presentation is so bad that on a non-HD tv you can’t even see the score. Also, when they aren’t showing live sporting events they are showing stupid stuff such as 60 year olds replaying a middle school basketball game from 45 years ago or non-stop replays of college football from the previous weekend.
I think their interest in off the field sleeze is over the top...
… even their syndicated radio shows… they pushed the favre sterger thing when nobody cared and blamed espn for favoritism by not reporting it…like espn had poor ethics and it was their duty as a news network. Even the inez thing I just dont give a shit.
I mean just look at their website. The front page is always 90% nothing to do with football games.
Everytime I listen or see them spend hours beating the dead horse on these types of subject makes me want to gouge my eyes out. All that time they spend on sleeze they could talk about other football teams…like the Rams LOL!
watching browns, jets

Show up in the game thread, bruh
And you’ll be on there
You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.
Browns not looking bad
Hillis scores on a dump off… after fumbling and a missed FG by the Jets.. 10-3 Browns
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
I dumped Hillis in FF after week 2 and I think Van picked him up LOL
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
wasn't a dump off, run left
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
Browns
there’s another turn around in Cleveland…if the Browns win today, they face Jacksonville and Carolina over the next two weeks. Then a mediocre schedule until they finish hte season against Baltimore and Pittsburgh. They’ll be a team to watch next year.

Ok, is anyone watching the Colts game?
I am up against manning and the Colts have 17 already and manning only has 86 pass yards. He is going up against my backup flacco today… Could I get super lucky?
Last 4 weeks in FF

I have way scored the most points in my league (864 going into this week), but I am behind by a game in second place
Today I am getting beat by a player
who has only 4 active starters… and they haven’t played their defense yet LOL

Oh wow, jets 10 play drive that took forever off the clock chip shot field goal on
like the 15 yardline and he bounced it off the upright!!
Oh that has got to damage the psyche LOL!
Me too, I think they will win easily
The cardinals have problems, the Hawks just look terrible in every phase of football except special teams.

We CAN have nice things…. let’s get a win today.
I know the media likes to hype up Jay Cutler under Martz
but he makes the WORST decisions. If he had half the head that Kurt did, he’d take the Bears to the playoffs

YUP.. That's been the knock on Cutler his whole career

good for them

Andre Johnson with a SICK catch in the end zone
penalty though

Off setting penalties LOL
Gotta make you sick as a WR when that happens

interesting challenge in that game coming
Is that the same as putting the ball on the ground?

Yea just commented about that below
My opinion, definately a TD
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
WOW gonna be interesting in Jacksonville
Catch in end zone called incomplete… should be reversed
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
I dunno
depends on the interpretation of the rule. That ref had a perfect look; if his instinct was that Walters didn’t finish the catch, I don’t know how you overrule that

BUT he had control
Back was on the ground.. lost control as he was raising ball up in celebration
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
same thing with Calvin Johnson
and the RB last week, I forget who. Don’t you have to come up with the ball through the celebration?

GRAY area... big time
Something has to be changed with this rule
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
can't disagree though...
hard to overturn a judgement call
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
Calvin Johnson's catch was a TD too in my opinion
this rule sucks

Well there ya go
Counts as a TD

TD Houston... like I said
he lost the ball as he raised the ball up in celebration
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
I don't understand
how one is and one isn’t. If you have to maintain possession throughout, you have to maintain possession throughout. I don’t understand that rule anymore

Agreed...
CJ was on his way up when he lost the ball, long after he had the ball in control
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
What should be changed?
Trying to think how this rule can be changed to be better.. I think once you hit the ground from being tackled, play is dead… if you have possession at that moment… should be a catch
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." - Vince Lombardi
Almost like saying
a RB needs to maintain possession all the way through… once a knee is down, play dead.
