Rams down the list of waiver priority to claim Randy Moss
Winning has its drawbacks. Up until week 3, the St. Louis Rams were at the top of the list for teams making waiver claims based on their 2009 record. Since then, the waiver order is determined by current record, and there are a few teams ahead of the Rams that could easily make a claim for Moss.
The current NFL waiver priority is: BUF, DAL, CAR, SF, DEN, MIN, DET, CLE, CIN, SD, ARI...then St. Louis.
For some teams, a move to make a one-season rental just doesn't make sense. On Twitter, media speculation about which teams would have interest is already heating up.
ESPN's Adam Schefter says the Rams would likely be in the mix along with the Cowboys, Redskins, Bears, Dolphins, Raiders, Chiefs, Jets and Patriots. He also points to Seattle in another Tweet.
Moss comes at a fairly high cost, $3.38 million for the rest of the season. That might not make much sense for teams unlikely to make the playoffs, a list that DOES NOT include the Rams.

Waiver claims start at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Vikes paying Moss' salary, so it's a freebie (according to NFL Network).
Only teams that worry me before the Rams get their choice: SF, ’zona, and the Chargers.

If he gets claimed
The team that claims him pay the rest of his salary. If he goes unclaimed then the Vikes pay his salary and he’s free to sign with any team.
Glazer misspoke then (I know...surprise!).
Put some weird blanket statement out on Moss’ status, then said he’d be a freebie to his next team.
It sounded like Glazer was calling from the center of the earth after running on a treadmill during his NFL Network hit.

He even mistweeted
and had to try a second time.
This is like tax season for him. So much to do.

I'll take the NFL waiver rules
over the tax code any day
Remember the great 2004 and 2005 Rams teams...

Hey Van do you have anyway of getting a link to the official waiver wire?
I asked this in the last story. I’m not even sure the NFL makes it available to the public but if so I’d like to have it.
waiver wire
When does this officially start? The claiming of RM?
For the next 24 hours starting when he was release I believe.

How long does each team have to "sit on the wire" before it rolls to the next team?
Obviously the get an allotted amount of time but how much time is that?
The only thing comparable to a Rams win is a 49er loss!
i think how it works is
any one can put in a claim in the next 24 hours and at the conclusion of that 24 hours the player goes to the worst team that submitted a claim, and if no team submits a claim he becomes a FA
I don't think that's how it works
you can all put in claims at once. Then they award him to the claiming team with the highest priority. I think.
ok, so what if.....
you put a claim in because you have an interest are you stuck? putting in a claim means he’s yours? so if you want to wheel and deal you better do it before claim? I was thinking we sign him for 2 more years and I think thats what Moss wants.

actually
i’m pretty sure that once you put in a claim you cannot back out of it.
If the Rams get Randy, then he is ours for the season, and he is a FA at the end of the season, regardless of his contract situation (even though he would be a FA according to his current contract)
I'd say that SF and ARI may make the move
to at least block us from making the move.
this stinks
The Rams played 1 more game than Zona so it should refer back to 2009 when it comes to them and whever else has only played 7.
Ha
Jay Glazer says Moss hasn’t been waived yet. Brett Favre whispering in Childress’s ear? or a scare tactic by the Vikings?
