Michael Lewis anyone?

<!--StartFragment-->

Before I start this post I would just like to say that I have admired this site for a while now. Whenever I wanted to find out the latest news about the rams I would come here. I've been a fan of the rams since the time I started watching football, now granted that was back with Warner, Faulk, Holt, Bruce, and the rest of the gang from the days when we were The Greatest Show On Turf, but I've also gone through the heart-breaking seasons of 3, 2, and 1 win seasons. During the offseason I was praying for Suh but after seeing Bradford lead this team and really make it his own I'm very impressed with him and glad the FO made him their choice. Now I could go on and on about how great Bradford is but I think its time I actually write an article.

The Rams have made some great moves in terms of youth movement and bringing in some experienced veterans to make this team competitive again so now I’m wondering what Michael Lewis, the ex-49er and ex-Eagle (Spags connection) has left in the tank. Lewis was starting for the 49ers until last week when rookie Taylor Mays took over his job. Lewis asked for his release because frankly who wants to play for the 49ers right now? The 49ers seem to be falling more apart everyday. Now there was a concern about character issues with Lewis but I’m wondering if that’s just the media over blowing it because he asked for his release. If he can still play and the character issues aren’t a concern then I say lets bring him in. You can never have too much depth at the secondary position and knowing the troubles the Rams have had with injury the past few years this could be a smart move not only for depth but Spags would most defiantly pick his brain for information on the niners which could pay off major later on since we have to see them twice a year. It would also show me that the Rams are playing to win now. Anyway that’s what I got. Hopefully future post will better.

absolutely not.

we have decent safeties, we have great chemistry now. veterans are good when they are the last piece of the puzzle for a contender or when they bring invaluable leadership. michael lewis is neither, and hes not even that good. i see no reason for making that move.

Butler, Dahl, and Atogwe are better.

If we need someone to suit up next to Atogwe, Dahl and Butler are more than serviceable for now. Though I won’t lie… Come 2012, I wouldn’t mind seeing Ray Ray Armstrong in a Rams uniform.

Michael Lewis is terrible.

Not having a place in San Francisco’s secondary should have confirmed that to the world.

Should have drafted Sanchez.

Agree with all the above

Sorry you missed the days of Gabriel and the fearsome foursome. Welcome

Yep!

Gabriel to Snow or Studstill, those were the days.

Why?

If he lost his place to a rookie on a team that is disfunctional, how would he be an upgrade?

No thank you!

He will not take the place of either Dahl or Butler.
He is very old and a liability in passing attacks.
By the way, when he was notified that he lost his starting job, he refused to travel with the team to Atlanta……not someone I want on this team.

I’m sorry but that idea isn’t worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin getting it on.

Maybe dogs playing pool!

Still worthless, just like Lewis.

An old over the hill safety

that gives up on his team when the going gets rough. I’m all for it

Hey, worth the thought

Personally, I haven’t watched enough of the guy to form an opinion, but the Niners and their fans clearly didn’t think much of his recent play, so there you have it.

Well, you got your wish!

Let’s see how he pans out….

Is it just me, or does Sam Bradford look like he can be one of the Jonas Brothers?
