College Football Open Thread: Mizzou looking for a win in Lincoln, Rams looking for able bodies at WR

It's a big day for college football, as we get into the meat and potatoes part of the NCAA season.

I know lots of people here will be watching an undefeated Missouri team on the road against Nebraska. Of course, USC has a huge game against #1 Oregon, a showdown in SoCal before they head into the NCAA discipline abyss.

As for the prospects on the field today, it's hard to think about the St. Louis Rams NOT looking closely at wide receivers. If I were the Rams, I'd be looking at big name free agents AND the draft to round out the receivers.

Here's a mock draft at Walter Football that has the Rams picking 9th, too low for Georgia's A.J. Green and too high for Alabama's Julio Jones. They have the Rams taking Clemson DE Da'Quan Bowers. In the second round, they have the Rams picking Ohio State WR DeVier Posey, who may not even come out next year. Round three gives the Rams Oklahoma RB DeMarco Murray. I like that draft, but if the Rams can't get one of the premier talents at WR in the first round, they need to write a big check in free agency for an established WR (Vincent Jackson?) and then they also need to take a second round or third round WR like that. Do you really want to live through another year of 4th and 5th string receivers?

Well, they needed a few extra condoms.

The way they hammered you guys @ Oregon last week. At least you guys are the perfect punching bag to make a Trojan feel better after today. I’ll be at the Rose Bowl in December. We all know it’s really OUR house. :D

Didn't happen buddy.

But it sucked either way. We had so many chances to win this game or take over. I am still somewhat saddened that you thought we’d be held to 14 points (or lose by 40). The scoreboard says 21 but it was much closer than that throughout.

Anyways, a loss is a loss. That team is the real deal. Their reign at the top will be short like leprechauns after we retool and mature next year. Barkley to Robert Woods is going to be hyper-lethal. :D

Dude, please don't take me seriously....

I love you man but I’m just an outta control fan who hopes for the best and talks a little trash. I really don’t mean anything by it. Do I really think we were gonna beat you by 49? No not really. But I hope we win every game by 40. We don’t often get a chance to be as dominant as we are this season, so I’m probably overly enthusiastic about the Duck offense, but I apologize because I didn’t mean to offend you. I just meant to get a little back and forth goin, you know.
It won’t be long and Kiffin will get replaced and USC will be back on top again. If it helps, Your cheerleaders are the only ones in the country that look better than ours.
