Random Ramsdom, 10/21: Tale of two draft picks

Gerald McCoy #93 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers puts pressure on quarterback Carson Palmer #9 of the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium on October 10, 2010 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Ok, it's coming at you a little late in the morning, so I'm going to throw a little something different at you for Random Ramsdom...numbers edition!

The St. Louis Rams are, get this, 3-point underdogs against Tampa Bay this week. Seems a little surprising, until you consider 1) the Rams are 0-2 on the road this season, with a huge belly flop in Detroit, 2) Tampa Bay is 3-2 and 1-2 at home with those losses coming to the vastly superior Steelers and Saints.

The tale of two draft picks...Sam Bradford and Gerald McCoy were Oklahoma teammates, both of whom received consideration for the top draft spot this year before both landed in the top three. Anyway, they're both looking forward to facing each other this weekend having known each other since childhood. Sacks have been hard to come by for the Buccaneers; they have just 4 sacks on the season.

Danario Alexander is one of three Rams receivers to score a TD and pick up 70 or more receiving yards in his NFL debut. The others: Carroll Dale (Game 1, 1960, 5 receptions, 106 yards, 1 TD) and Bucky Pope (Game 2, 1964, 3 rec, 87 yards, 1 TD). Dale went on to have a long, decorated career. Pope had a solid rookie season, but washed never replicated that success and was out of the league after four seasons. Given Alexander's injury history, both courses present very real possibilities.

There is no doubt

The Rams have the talent to beat TB. With such an explosive D performance last week, they should be FIRED UP. Go Rams GO

The only thing comparable to a Rams win is a 49er loss!
