Wanted: Rams looking for cornerback help
The St. Louis Rams cleared a roster spot ahead of yesterday's NFL trade deadline, stirring a little speculation just ahead of the most boring trade deadline ever.
RB Chauncey Washington was released to free up the roster spot, his availability not as crucial with a healthy Steven Jackson. Washington has since been signed to the practice squad.
To fill the vacancy, the Rams were considering former-Rams CB Quincy Butler, who they cut in September. Butler, was snapped up by the Saints. Obviously, the Rams are concerned about their nickel situation. Justin King is out this week with a hamstring injury. Kevin Dockery was inactive last week against San Diego, still dealing with a hamstring injury himself.
Right now, they have third round pick Jerome Murphy as their third corner. Ron Bartell injured his wrist, but the MRI came back negative and he should be okay, despite a thigh bruise.

Maybe not the best solution but..
Cord Parks appears available. Now, i am not saying he would be ideal but can contribute for a week or two as needed until we get “our” guys back.
Appears LB Curtis Johnson was "promoted" from PS
Also
Defensive back Antoine Thompson, who was with the Rams in training camp and the preseason, was signed to Johnson’s spot on the practice squad.
per STL PD.
Eric Wright
should be available in offseason

talk about someone who is having a bad season
he gets consistently burned
Sam Bradford
anyone good is not gonna just come available at the CB position.
Now, Spags has done work in the past with guys who were ‘toast’ at one time and turned them into all-pro (See Webster, Corey) in NY

Is cornerback becoming a position of value to address in the draft?
I think maybe, if we continue to improve on the D-line and some continued luck in WR pick-ups.
