Rams Defense: A Fantasy Football Starter?

Stay connected for news and updates

After a disappointing performance by the Chicago defense this past weekend against Seattle, lets just say that I am less that enthused by their projected matchup against the Redskins. I am looking at my Fantasy football league and have found the Rams Defense sitting there available on the waiver wire. I have this overwhelming inclination to put them on my team immediately!

My rational is that, with the exception of the Detroit massacre, they have been very solid all year. They are coming off of a huge confidence booster where they held Phillip Rivers, a top 5 NFL QB by most standards, to very modest numbers, and made the San Diego running game disappear. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, although they are much improved from their team last year, are certainly not half of the offensive threat that San Diego was. That said their are certainly question to be answered...

-How will the Rams perform on the Road? (We all saw what happened last time we left the Ed Jones Dome)

-Can the Rams be consistent?

-Can Shumur keep the offense on the field, especially in the second half?

-How do Tampa Bay's weapons matchup against our defense? (Mike Williams, Cadillac Williams, Josh Freeman)

Am I crazy or are the Rams Defense a very serious Fantasy Football option?
