Pictures to prove it: Total effort lifts Rams over the Chargers
What an absolutely outstanding game from the St. Louis Rams, upsetting the San Diego Chargers, 9-point favorites, with a 20-17 win.
Credit the fans a little here too. The Dome was rocking; that was plain even through the television speakers. And that's a really great sign, because after all turnarounds are for the fans too.
On the field and on the sidelines, there was plenty of credit due as the Rams pulled together in a total team effort to make the upset look preordained. People are divided on who exactly to give the game ball to, splitting it between a stellar defensive performance and Steven Jackson.
Enjoy victory Monday. Take a gander at some great photos from the game.

I was there
the place was unbelievable. I don’t believe it was quite as crazy as the Seattle game, but man people were getting in to it.
I was there as well...
And I honestly don’t think it was rocking. The dome was quiet a lot of the time. It got loud in the 2nd quarter a bit and in the last couple of drives for the Chargers. As fans we should be going crazy every single snap while we are on defense, and that wasn’t even close to happening.
I can’t talk today, but I guarantee a lot of people sitting close to me are having no trouble. I was a little disappointed in the fan noise or lack there of
Baseball-Cardinals
Football-Rams
College Sports-MU Tigers!
It's all a matter of your expectations.
I have only seen the Rams crowd crazy from the first play to the last a couple of times during the 1999 playoffs. The same is true for almost every NFL crowd. What is the point of screaming on every defensive play when nothing is happening for your opponents anyway? You won’t even see it happen when your team is in the Super Bowl. You bring the noise when it matters, not on every play. That’s just the NFL.
Great Victory
The third quarter playcalling was a little spotty, but otherwise a nearly flawless victory.
Great job Rams- now put it away and get ready for the Bucs!
The emotions of the game do not change.

amazing
The only thing comparable to a Rams win is a 49er loss!

I see a lot of empty seats.
Latecomers or were that many seats purchased and rotted to avoid the blackout?
I can take a beating ... I'm a Rams fan.
And the gameball goes to...
The defense! Most sacks in Rivers’ career, shut down the best TE in the game today, held a stellar Malcom Floyd to almost nothing, and held the NFL’s top offense just to two TDs (and only 3 points in the first half). Bravo!
Jackson had a good game, and we leaned on him late, but the defense deserves ALL the credit for this one.

Gates got hurt. We got a bit lucky there.
Still, great job.
I can take a beating ... I'm a Rams fan.
Love it!
Devs – you must be an old fan from LA/OC, like me. The St. Louis don’t even acknowledge the 49er rivalry, claiming the Seahawks as the No. 1 nemesis, which I find sort of hard to believe.
I saw a lot of people trying to claim a tainted victory because of the absence of Gates & Floyd – rather hard to fathom, given the fact that Avery and Clayton are out for the year for the Rams. Oh well. You can’t please everyone.
I think the biggest boost to my feelings about the future, aside from the play of defense and the very UN-rookie-like Sam the Ram, was the limited action from from Alexander. you can’t underestimate the value of a tall, field-stretching wide-out.
I saw a breakdown of the Giants SB victory of the Pats, and they pointed out the value of Plex Burris streching the defense and opening up the short and middle routes. with our TE crew, we should be able to light up defenses going forward. Take away the deep ball, you’ve got the TE’s and Danny A. crossing, take that away, you got SJ39 up the middle. I’ve always thought that, as good as Jax has been over the years, if the Rams could field a team that threatened through the air, taking away those 8-man fronts, he’d be #1 in the league year and year.
Rams Fans, we’re in for a treat!
Tainted Victory??
I may be one of the youngest and newest fans on here, but here’s something I do know. Our team came in handycapped from some of our defensive starters being out, and some of our starting receivers being out. We still knocked the snot out of them. How do some Ram fans hint that it was a “tainted victory”? Thanks for bringing that to the front Bildeax. I agree with you!
