VICTORY!!! Rams beat the Chargers for third win of the season
The Rams are back to 3-3, and things are right in the world. This is a different Rams team, people. Discuss.
Van:
The St. Louis Rams had to win this week. There was no room for a loss. And win they did, beating the San Diego Chargers 20-17 to even their record at 3-3.
The defense had an astonishing 5 sacks in the first half. It wasn't easy in the second half though as the Rams offense whiffed on several chances to put it out of reach. Still, it was an impressive effort from the defense. San Diego had the top offense in the league heading into this week's game.
The Rams offense had a strong first half, but it was rough in the second half. Steven Jackson had his second 100+ yard rushing game of the season, keeping hope alive with his legs late in the game.
Full recap coming shortly. In the meantime, make your choice for the game ball on the TST Facebook page.

Nice Win
Now if we can win on the road………all our wins are at home
Huge win
Now 3-1 at home with Tampa and Carolina before the bye. Things looking good, no?
You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.
hopefully we don't mimic the StL Cardinals
and beat good teams and get housed by crappy ones.

This is unreal
Being from the bay and dealing with their fans..I dont like rooting for the Raiders, but im bouta switch out my blue and gold for some black and silver right now.
Man
If the 49ers start out 0-6, the whirlpool opens up.

Danario
For president. Why did we only attempt 1 deep pass the whole game?
The game plan worked in the first half
My question is on the 3rd quarter offense. We needed to open up those drives and put the game away. It was the opposite of the Redskins & Seahawks games. But hey, we got the W.

looks like a "prevent offense"
It just looked like they were content with letting the defense try to control Rivers (big gamble), but it worked out so I’m not complaining. I continue to see things to get excited about. It was a big win, now on to Tampa!!
Seems like one more than the entire season so far.
Maybe a look at things to come?

Yeah
Jason had a bad game. But better to have it in a win than to cost us one.

I LOVE THE RAMS
and for any of you who saw my overly happy polygamous marriage comment, I hope you know there was meant to be a NO HOMO at the end, but I kinda got so engrossed in the happiness it slipped my mind.
Bradford to Onobun!
Y only 1 deep ball?
Wish Passes Short would call more deep balls.
In the second half the game plan was pretty much try and run the clock out.
by AWolfAtTheDoor on Oct 17, 2010 3:39 PM CDT up reply actions
yea not shit
no offense but WTF, not impressed with trying to run the clock out at the start of the 4th quarter.
I think it's pretty obvious that the Chargers outclass the Rams in pretty much everyway possible talent-wise.
Shortening the game and protecting the rookie QB proved to be a good game plan. When the Rams need to they’ll start throwing the ball more often.
by AWolfAtTheDoor on Oct 17, 2010 4:23 PM CDT up reply actions
Have to credit Jackson near the end of the game.
3rd and 6, gets 10. If we would not have got that first down I think we might have lost.
+10
I couldn’t believe they ran the ball on 3rd and whatever late in the game. But SJax was CLUTCH!
by Pekka for Predator Pontiff on Oct 17, 2010 4:52 PM CDT up reply actions
Yea especially since there was over 2:00 minutes on the clock.
And they scored a TD in 40 seconds the drive prior.

Danario had a huge game
But I wonder, like some of you, why he only had 1 target in the second half. Was it only the conservative play calling or do you ink something changed with him?
I’m thinking he’s going to be a starter going forward though.
by TransplantedRamsFan on Oct 17, 2010 3:22 PM CDT reply actions
He was still in on special teams
and was instrumenal in getting pressure in that field goal block. They probably wanted to continue easing him back into form.
Maybe...
People can stop giving up on the season after one bad loss now? Good win!! I’m upset the hawks won, but we still have second place, and two hopeful wins ahead of us. Go rams!

Yeah
The over reaction last week was intense.

It WAS intense for sure…this is a GREAT win to restore our confidence.
by Pekka for Predator Pontiff on Oct 17, 2010 4:53 PM CDT up reply actions
I never lost confidence.
I just stopped coming on here this week because I felt I was going to lash out at some of the idiotic pessimistic comments…I can’t stand those.

I guess I should get used to the idea that anything is possible when you have Bradford and Jackson

One other thing that's pretty important...
…is Spags. His D-expertise has turned our defense from a buncha clowns to a hard hitting get-after-the-QB kinda defense. That’s been as important as anybody…expect KING SAM.
And Long had a nice game…and how bout that 7th rounder outta USF? He might be pretty good too :)
by Pekka for Predator Pontiff on Oct 17, 2010 4:56 PM CDT up reply actions
*should be 4-2
could be 5-1…. i mean the fumble by Ryan was nonexcusable but the Raiders game was nothing more than an ordinary loss that we couldn’t take advantage of
by stlcardsfan4 on Oct 17, 2010 10:20 PM CDT up reply actions
That's true
but Josh Brown’s miss…I mean come on, that’s his range!

This is awesome.
There is an idiot who said “3 years ago Shawne Merriman and Steven Jackson were that good, not now though, but three years ago this commercial would have made sense” or something along those lines. Umm… “and Steven Jackson”?! I’ve come to the conclusion that that guy got hit in the head with a rock 15 times and I hope he recovers soon.

What would Houston want for Steve Slaton?
A 5th or 6th? The guy showed a ton of promise before he got in coaches doghouse, and he seems like the kind of player that a change of scenery would do good. Nice compliment to SJ? (since that seems like what we always bitch about around here).

don’t sell the farm for a douche like VJ, but make a move to show the league we’re serious about winning into November and December.

He can catch the ball too...I'd like him for a 3rd down back...
by Pekka for Predator Pontiff on Oct 17, 2010 4:57 PM CDT up reply actions
Agreed
he’d make a great change of pace back as well. Fumbling problems go away, Adrian Peterson has officially become the best back in football this season with his issues gone. I’ve wanted Slaton for awhile now and since they literally refuse to use him, I would imagine we could give them a 5th or 6th rounder. Hell, I bet we could swap picks in the 5th and still get him.

danario is gonna be huge for us
im equally impressed with gibson
Equally, really?
Gibson has been a nice surprise on occasion, but I haven’t see the big play potential that we saw from denario today.
I’d love to share your optimism on Gibson. Tell me your thug process please. Thanks.
by TransplantedRamsFan on Oct 17, 2010 3:54 PM CDT up reply actions
he catches and makes a man miss on alot of occasions
consistenly getting open too… hes more the underneath guy
Ok
I hope you’re right. He can be our underneath yac guy as we go forward.
Do we pretty much think Laurent is done?

he is strong too...
i saw him put a db on their ass today after he caught it…
I actually have a lot of love for robinson.. i wanna see him return.. hes fast and tall. idk whats going on with him.. no playing time??
Yeah
LR wasn’t even thrown to today.
Makes you wonder.

i wonder if hes healthy
hobbled by the ankle injury… imagine what we could do with avery clayton danario gibson and amendola…
Yeah
2 100 yd games in a row. And he’ll become the rams all time leading rusher next week.

Great game
I thought the play calling in the first half was money – can’t say it continued into the second half but our defense did enough to get the job done
i hate hate hate jason campbelll
kill the niners please kill them…
atrocious quarterbacking on both sides

yea alex smith is pretty much a bust... considering he was drafted the same spot as bradford
produces like a 3rd rounder
Alex Smith
has been a bust and is just confirming it this season. I don’t see why Singletary doesn’t realize that Smith is the problem. The guy sucks it up early and lead some “clutch” late drives to get close, only for it to be too late.

great win great game
Washs away the preordained sacrifice at the alter of the Lion. Rams just had the bad luck of being on the schedule that day.
it helps.. the lions were destined to win that one.
they could have if hill stayed in today… they are a good team
9ers lined up to kick a fg with 9 guys on the field lmao
they look like us last year.. its the opening the season at seattle effect
I simply can't believe that Danario scored a TD.
I went crazy when that happened. Hope we can keep this train rolling. I love it when this team wins, especially against quality opponents like Washington and San Diego.
Also, why is nobody talking about Chris Long?
2 sacks, James Hall had one, overall the defense had 7. It was amazing. Also, it was nice to see Mardy convert that 3rd and 20. He’s slowly getting to where he needs to be to be a solid producer for this team.
I agree.. i didnt think about the sacks...
long looked like a man possessed
Wish he could have done more overall for the whole game, but nobody was getting anything
done in the second half. I hope we see more of Danario in the future, he definitely has potential to be great.
he was shut out in the 2nd half but the rams didnt look that way really
probably game plan related especially since this is his 1st game i doubt the coaches really wanted to keep going his way especially if he started getting double covered
Eh he's still being used on special teams.
He was only targeted once in the second half.

much better today
i figured that last week’s game would either fire st. louis up or send us on a big losing streak. hopefully it was a fire-up game. congrats to danario on his first TD!
Hey everyone
My comp blew up. Literally into a thousand pieces. I didn’t get it repaired until after the game but followed on NFL networks scoreboard and your comments on my phone. I was here in spirit but not able to comment or watch anything live this week. Figures but damn, we answered a LOT of questions this week huh?
