Will Danario Demand Respect?

With today's signing of Danario Alexander, I've got a few questions that I'd like some perspective on from my fellow Rams fans.  Namely, if our newest signing is 'up to speed,' not only on the field but in the playbook, should he demand respect from a San Diego Charger defense that appears to be pretty stout against passing regimes thus far this season?  The Chargers come into this Sunday ranking 7th overall in the NFL in pass defense, giving up only 900 yards through 5 weeks (180 avg./game), and only 4 receiving touchdowns.

I'm a hot mess!  On one hand (and you'll notice in other posts) I am of the mindset that we need some serious help at the wide receiver position, and I don't feel that we can wait until next years draft to make a move.  Watching receiver after receiver go down with year-ending injuries is almost as painful for me as it is for them.  I cannot say with any certainty that bringing in someone who's yet to take a snap in the NFL, who's been riddled with injuries of his own, gives me the 'warm and fuzzies.'  Nor do I think that the Amendola/Gilyard combo will produce the Bruce/Holt results we'd like to see.  I'm encouraged to see that we'll be getting some healthy TE play, but don't feel that we'll be able to stretch the field, which you may have noticed became quite problematic in last weeks drubbing, and certainly doesnt fair well for #39 if we can't.

With that being said, I can't help but to enjoy reading articles about how Danario was running 40-yard dash times faster than Jahvid Best, and essentially touching the rafters with his vertical.  Is he fully healed, or are we acting in desparation by throwing him into the mix?  He says he's healthy, but why wouldnt he? It's his chance to shine on the big stage.  Now I, nor you, at this point have any idea in what capacity he'll play in the game, but I would like your thoughts on his initial impact when he does hit the turf.  His size and speed are encouraging to me, but maybe that's just my optimism.  The San Diego D has played well against the pass thus far this season, and we're coming off of a game where we proved we need a deep threat in order to effectively move the ball.  Did we sign one today?  Your thoughts...
