Good Luck to teams today

For the Rams,

There is always next season. We have a lot to look forward to this year in the draft. It would be nice to see a good blog where people go back and forth with selections by round. I believe there will be some “BIG” surprises during this year’s draft.

Who knows, Rams could trade down a few slots in 1st Rd., pick up an extra selection or two, AND draft either Okung or Terrence Cody or G. McCoy or a DE or a CB or or or. We need soooo many impact players that will help alleviate concerns at other positions that it is a best available player at a “NEED” position than at any other time for this team in recent history. As some posters have said, “if Rams can get worth while extra picks for trading down and still get an impcat player, then it is probaly gonna happen”. Otherwise, we just wonder as to who we select at #1 overall in the draft – and it better not be a qb.

A Potential Selection List - if no trade-down

Rd. 1 = Suh, Cody or Berry

Rd. 2 = DE like G. Hardy or Jason Pierre-Paul; or OLB like G. Selvie or E. Norwood

Rd. 3 = DE or OLB again (whichever we did not take in Rd. 2)

Rd. 4 = CB K. Wilson; or OT R. Saffold; or, OLB R. Muckleroy (alternate a CB pick above)

Rd. 5 = WR Erik Decker, Freddie Barnes my choice

Rd. 6 = OT A. Ulatosky; or, S J. Lake

Rd. 7 = OLB D. Davis; or, TE J. Graham

My inclination is that good offensive players will fall to later rounds because the draft is defensive heavy.

A couple issues
  1. - Cody is a one-trick pony that is only effective as a run-stopping NT. He has no lateral moves, he hasn’t developed on a technique level, and he’s so huge he lacks the stamina to play more than 2/3 of the snaps anyway. He makes no sense for the Rams.
  1. - I’d be shocked ‘a’, if Muckelroy slips to the 4th, and ‘b’, if the Rams don’t take him before then. As you note in your rd 2 & 3 suggestions, OLB makes sense, so to pass on Muckelroy in the 3rd would be tough.
  1. - Decker will be gone before our 3rd round pick. Barnes could be too.

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

SBN bullets, I hate you!

How does “1, 2, 3” become “1, 1, 1”?

Cody = 360 lbs.

I actually had him for 2nd Rd. pick if he lasts. He is like you suggest massive – exactly what Rams need to stuff run (we don’t need him to laterally move). Plus, he takes on double teams and locks up the offensive linemen.

If we lose Atogwe, we may take Berry. Right now though, it looks as if Suh is the guy.

You may be correct about the receivers which is why a little shifting of selections/positions may be in order.

I generally based my selections on player gradings at their respective positions and what other draft sites felt were the needs for other teams. It is a defense heavy draft this year!
