Warner to be inducted to the HOF as a Ram or Cardinal?

First of all I'd like to say thank you Kurt Warner for all you've done for the Rams, the game of football and the community. You and Marshall are the reasons I became a Rams fan. Fellow Rams fans, I went over to the Cardinals blog site and read how they felt about Warners decision to retire and a couple of commentators believe Warner will be inducted to the HOF as a Card.Pretty dumb I know but what do you think? Aside from that, now that Warner's retired, I believe the NFC West is wide open in 2010. With a great draft, offseason, Sjax's allegations dropped, Warners retirement, can this be the year we compete in the weakest division of the NFL or are the other teams still way further ahead of us? Go Rams

Thank you for this post.

For all his detractors, Kurt Warner is the only QB that ever led the Rams to a SB Title. I will be forever grateful to Kurt and the 1999 supporting cast of Pace, Bruce, Faulk, Holt, Proehl, Hakim, Wistrom, Little, and especially Mike Jones. I think Warner is an instant lock as a HoFamer. His skills and stats are incredible. Especially for a guy who started playing in the NFL at age 28. Kurt’s a true winner. We’d have a 2nd SB title too. If not for a last minute defensive breakdown that allowed Tom Brady to get the Pats into FG position from their own 17 yard line with under two minutes left and NO time outs. I’ll always remember Kurt as a super player, with a rocket release, and laser accuracy. He’s also a fine Christian man. His retirement undoubtedly makes the NFC West the worst division in the NFL. An 8-8 or 7-9 record could win it next year. The Cards are done cause they’ll lose Boldin too. The Hawks are in decline, especially Hasselbeck. The Rams are.., well they’re the Rams. I guess the 49ers become the favorites now. So long Kurt. May health, happiness and peace be with you. “sniff..”

i dont think there's a need to choose a team to be inducted as

I heard a player say that he didnt need to choose because its only a bust statue. The big pictures around his statue can show him playing multiple teams

This isn't baseball

The Pro Football Hall of Fame doesn’t make a player choose a team. It’s the baseball hall of fame that makes a player wear a particular hat on their bust (whether they like it or not — see Andre Dawson and Gary Carter being forced to go in as Montreal Expos). Anyway, Warner will go in as a Ram, Giant & Cardinal.

If he has to chose, it has to be the Rams.

This is where he won the Super Bowl and where he won his MVPs. He was great for the Cardinals, but his fame came from his time with the Rams.

Had Brady's incomplete pass

been ruled a fumble in “The Tuck Rule Game,” we never would have played the Patriots and probably would have won that Super Bowl.

They call me the cloud, because I make it rain.

tuck rule is a joke

it was a fumble and your right rams win 2nd super bowl

In the pro football hall of fame...

player do not get inducted into the hall with a team like player do when they enter the MLB hall of fame so this isn’t even an issue

KURT WARNER HOF RAMS VS CARDINALS

As a RAM fan I would love to see him go in as a RAM. Faulk, Bruce and Holt will be first rounders also. Having all four of them go in as RAMS would be awesome even though the RAMS did Warner, Holt and Bruce wrong. But whatever team they choose they will always be remembered to me as THE GREATEST SHOW ON TURF!

Since they apparently don't go in as a member of any given team, this won't be an issue.

I would think Faulk, Bruce and Holt will also all make it someday, but I don’t think the receivers will necessarily be first rounders – especially Holt. Chris Carter still isn’t in, so I think Holt will also take some time. Being number two all time among receivers in so many categories should help Bruce get there sooner.

I don’t want to get into an in depth discussion about it, but I’m not sure the Rams did Warner, Bruce and Holt wrong, especially Holt. Still, I’m sure everyone has their own opinion, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Thank you.

You’re the 3rd person to make this point (the HoF/which team thing), and I hope you’re the last.

But I do agree with the OP that right now, this division is WIDE OPEN.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Yahbut we can't change the rules of the HOF just to fit OP's topic

And since Ed was shedding a couple of reminiscent tears in remembrance of one of the greatest Rams of the modern era, we let it be. Pat yourself on the back for spotting the major inconsistancy with this topic/thread. Some did not. Maybe some still won’t. sigh

I will be very disappointed if Warner goes in as a Cardinal

and while he led the Cards from crappy to glory, St. Louis was where he got his start and had his best years here. He should go in as a Ram, but who knows at this point. We’ll see in a few years.

Can we please stop this nonsense?

Players don’t go into the NFL Hall of Fame as a member of one team. That’s baseball. In the NFL they just go in as a player. Warner won’t go in as a Ram or a Cardinal. He will go in as Kurt Warner, QB.

PLEASE STOP IT!!!
