SUH-per Bounty Mock Draft 2
My intention isn't to flood the fanposts, but I have the rare fortune of a little time this week and since I have 6 mock drafts, I am going to hit it while I can. Please keep commenting on the previous mocks if you so desire. I really appreciate the interest and conversation. Without this site, I wouldn't have even thought of a quarter of these ideas or known half of these players without all the excellent feedback. And remember, front offices DO read these sites to, at least, get the pulse of their fans. Of course they are going to do their own thing, but it doesn't hurt to make your opinions and ideas known. You just never know who's watching. Once again, I am using a combination of Top 200 lists and respected mock drafts to come up with possible positionings of players chosen. Tampa Bay has put us on the clock. Here we go:
#3 (1) - - - - Russel Okung, OT, Oklahoma State I can think of worse things than a pair of monster OT bookends.
#33 (2) - - - Colt McCoy, QB, Texas This pick in this place probably won't change unless we are SURE he will fall.
#35 (2) - - - Everson Griffen, DE, USC If Detroit nabs him at #34 then go Jahvid Best RB of Cal
#42 (2) - - - Brandon Graham, DE/OLB, Michigan Holy Moly this would be intriguing.
#65 (3) - - - Arthur Jones, DT, Syracuse Very underrated player who will provide a nice addition to DLine.
#96 (4) - - - Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford Wouldn't it be awesome to have a Change of Punishment back?
#128 (5) - - Riley Cooper, WR, Florida Great height 6'3", good speed 4.4, and finished strong. On the rise.
#151 (5) - - Thomas Austin, OG, Clemson Versatile, can play OG and C, and serves as insurance on Setterstrom.
#160 (6) - - Jamar Wall, CB, Texas Tech Made Big 12 Second Team in a difficult conference for DBs. Tackles well.
#192 (7) - - Keenan Clayton, OLB, Oklahoma Former S needs some of that Spag's Magic. Good size+speed. Raw.
#210 (7) - - Tim Hiller, QB, Western Michigan High upside. Great size. Raw tools. Please, no more Keith Null.
With this mock draft, my obvious hope is that we can get the TE Tony S. from Denver. Who knows. Coming in at #3 was Seattle. God, I hate the Seahawks. Why can't we beat them? Oh, well. Stay tuned for Mock Draft #3.

Gerhart
Unlikely to fall to the 4th round. He may be available in the 2nd.
I don't think so.
Scouts are very mixed on his abilities translating in the NFL. 4th Round would be my ceiling on selecting Gerhart. 2nd Rd. is way too high for my taste.
and we don't need another power back
the best compliment to steven jackson isn’t another power back, its a speedster (felix jones / chris johnson type of speed). that would give defenses different looks and force them to prepare for both type of backs. the rams should look at drafting the fastest RB available in the 2nd or 3rd round…. if there is one worth drafting around there.
Why wouldn't we take Griffen with #33?
We know Detroit won’t take a QB, so McCoy will still be there at 35. I can’t imagine another team trading up to take him at 34. He just isn’t projected that high.
bounty 2
This is the most likely trade option. Although, I think you only get 1 rd2 choice. I would take G McCoy if available; then Bownam, Best, Lupati at top of rd2. depending on availability
I think only you take C McCoy in rd 2 if we have 3 choices in rd2. or Wash goes Clausen in rd1. Then making a push for Campbell.
I like the Riley choice in rd 4 or 5.
I would not take Gearhart at 4 if we take Best and would not draft 2 QB’s.
Flip Flop
If were gonna trade out of the number one pick why not take Jimmy Clausen in the first round and an offensive tackle the second round?
- - First Round – Jimmy Clausen (QB) If we don’t take Suh, GET the quarterback!
- - 2nd Round – Bruce Campbell / Trent Williams (OT) Jason Smith’s bookend mate for years to come
- - 2nd Round – Jahvid Best (RB) Finally Spags has a one-two punch like in New York
- - 2nd Round – Sean Weatherspoon (OLB) Teams up with Laurenaitis to help bolster the LB position
- - 3rd Round – Vladimir Ducasse (OG) Bye Bye Cogs, hello more interior help for Jason Brown!
- - 4th Round – Arrelious Benn (WR) Need someone for Clausen to throw the ball to.
- - 5th Rd – Kyle Wilson (CB) Playmaker on the outside can return kicks also
- - 5th Rd – Brandon Lang (DE) Quick pass rusher to take over for Little opposite Chris Long.
- - 6th Rd – Terrell Hudgins (WR) BIG wide reciever out of Elon who has broken all kinds of records.
- - 7th Rd – Geno Atkins (DT) The big guy from Georgia might be here to help the interior defensive line
- - 7th Rd – Dexter Davis (OLB) The thumper from Arizona State can help on the outside for the linebacking unit
I just don't think this dream is going to happen.
Benn and Wilson will go in the late 1st or the 2nd round. Ducasse is showing he can’t get the job done against good competition at the Senior Bowl.
