NFL Division series open thread
Two big games today, and hopefully they'll be a little more exciting than the others.
Seriously, except for the Packers-Cardinals game last week, has this been the most lop-sided series of playoff games in a long time? Not unwatchable, but hardly making for great TV.
Dallas at Minnesota, 1:00 p.m. EST
I can't believe I'm actually pulling for the Cowboys to win a game. This is what happens when your team sits at home during the playoffs.
New York at San Diego, 4:40 p.m. EST
I guess I'd rather see the Chargers win this one, mostly just so I don't have to hear Rex Ryan bluster. Though a Jets win might validate the draft a QB theory, remember there were plenty of people wanting the Rams to draft Sanchez last year.

Chargers are gonna win. They are my favorite non-Ram team. Vincent Jackson will be the one to break away from Revis. And if not, Floyd, Gates, Tomlinson, and Sproles can get the job done. Rivers is a beast.
Thank you!
That’s what I’ve been saying. Def wins championships. It does happen. Last time I think was the Ravens. Differ sucks! And they still won. Give the ball to Null, and let the guys up front do their thing. SJ can run wild. CaliRam amen. Bring the lambs back to LA where they belong.

I premonitioned a Vikings feast!
A feast they are having. When analysts were “yacking-up” Dallas, I knew Dallas would “Get Killed”!
I think I'd rather be a Rams fan than a Cowboys fan
because I think we are more appreciative of 1 win in the regular season then they are of 1 win in the playoffs.
This has been the most boring weekend in playoff history so far.
Blowout after blowout after blowout. Hopefully the Chargers will win in an exciting game. The Rams could have done as good as the losing teams in this round. I haven’t even been able to watch the end of any of these games because there’s no point. Hopefully the next game, round, and Superbowl will be better.
I was hoping to get him even before today
but he’s only 25 and will be restricted unless the CBA thing gets worked out very soon.
Me thinks a lot of people including Spags and Devaney are starting to realize that we should've drafted Sanchez.
Not necessarily for his QB skills, but because the Jets, who have A LOT of talented players, would’ve given up several of them in a trade for Sanchez. They wanted Mark Sanchez at all costs. But we played it safe and took Jason Smith. And, at first that looked ok too. But after the serious head injury he suffered, his endurance is now in question. I’m not saying it’s his fault at all, but another good headshot and Smith’s career may well be over. Reference Steve Young.
If I'm not mistaken...
…Smith was cleared to play and wanted to play in our last game. I’m pretty sure he’s gonna be back strong next year.
Also, 100 yards passing indicates that Sanchez is responsible for the Jets’ run? If anything, it shows the Defense can carry a stagnant offense. All the offense has to do is capitalize through the run game on the opportunities the D creates.

For the radar screen, at least
But once you’ve had one concussion, you’re more prone to get another then someone who hasn’t.
The House of Spears reigns supreme
ya...I think Bulger got a 100 yards passing a few times too
obviously Sanchez will improve….just saying that this season that just ended wouldn’t have been any different
There are a shit load of NFL players who've had concussions.
Just because it’s not public knowledge, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Could have happened in college, high school, while playing another sport, and it’s possible it was never diagnosed and treated.
Nevertheless, having one does make you more prone to another, but I’d say he’s at no more risk than 80% of NFL players.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
But
the jets have the best oline in the nfl and the run game was consistent and 1st in the nfl as well
Everyone on the line was able to stay healthy, something we were unable to do so sanchez had it 100 times better on the jets than he would have here
The point was not that we keep Sanchez, but that we could've extracted several high quality players from the Jets in trade for him.
I guess
it would work but they would have leverage on us. If we never wanted sanchez but tried to trade him they would have the bargaining power not us
Nope. The Jets made it clear they wanted Sanchez at all costs. And if we had kept him he'd have been a heckuva lot better than the terrible trio we've got.
Sanchez, smanchez
I’d rather have Clausen

or a healthy Bradford

me too but we cant deny that sanchez would be a better option this year than everyone we threw in at QB this year
but as the future of the franchise i would rather have bradford than sanchez
I can deny that.
Sanchez wouldn’t have done any better than Bulger did this year. The receivers wouldn’t be more open and the line wouldn’t be more effective/more healthy because he was here. He threw 20 INTs with the Jets and completed 53% of his passes. Think of how much worse he would have been with us. There is no way he would have been better than Bulger this year.
Do you know for a fact that Devaney didn't try to make the trade you are suggesting?
It was reported that he tried to trade the pick, but couldn’t do it. So, maybe he tried to trade with the Jets but they didn’t feel it was worth it or that we would actually take him.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
The Chargers remind me a lot of the LA Rams of the 1970s...
Very powerful team that can consistently win 10-12 games per season, make the playoffs and then do a belly flop. From 1973 to 1978 the Rams won six striaght NFC West titles and choked every year in the playoffs to either the Vikes or Cowboys. So long Norm, nice knowing ya.
i agree that bradford and possibly clausen would be better as the future of the franchise
in comparison to sanchez but he is still better than null, boller, and even bulger
