Look for Avery and Fells to have big games against the Niners

With the losing of Laurent Robinson due to injury, the Rams are thin on wide-outs (well, they already were). And also, for about the billionth time Bulger got hurt and left the game. So golden boy Kyle Boller got his shot, and for the most part we showed that he can start for the Rams. With an arm like his, and with speed like Avery: its a perfect match! Look, Avery has done nothing through 3 game except cost us a win. With Robinson gone, he is back in the spotlight, with a 13 game losing streak on his shoulders. Here's a simple equation:      long passing attack = better Jackson runs. It's that simple. Another equation:    bad offensive line = easy sacks on Bulger or bad offensive line = Boller's mobility.

Daniel Fells had a good game against the Packers, and except it again especially matchups on linebackers. It worked last week, why can't it work this week?

MY 3 KEYS TO BEATING THE 49ERS:

1.) Pressure Shaun Hill: No Frank Gore equals no run game.

2.) Accuracy from Boller: In a West Coast system, you need accuracy.

3.) Clock Management: They need to eat time off the clock to have a shot.

It's a nice thought

but I dont’ think the chances are very good. Who is going to pressure the QB if we couldn’t do it last week against the Packers? And why would we think Avery can get behind anyone when he hasn’t done it yet this year – even if the offensive coordinator would change his pattern and call a long pass now and then?

I really like Fells

I was impressed in the preseason by him and i’m glad he showed off what he can do against green bay. And i think a player we over look is Randy McMichael i mean he is pretty good but he did drop a few passes this season. But i really want to see Fells in more plays especially in the redzone. And i was looking over his stats on nfl.com and it has him listed as a full back. He’s 272 lbs and he moves like that? I want to see this guy lined up as a tight end more to help jason smith out or Goldberg.

2 TD loss

The 9ers CBs are old, but have skills (Harris and Bly). I bet they will hold us under 150 yds in the air with ease. Their safeties are weak and suspect. That is where we could hurt them.

Glen Coffee ripped it up during the preseason. He is no slouch. I would expect he hits us for at least 100 yds. Unless, the LBs play more of a solid game than last week. I thought Witherspoon had a really good game though, Animal Jr. + Vobora and his replacement need to improve.

Davis will have 100 yds receiving and at least 1 TD. The rams cannot stop talented TEs.

Hill has mobility, reads defenses well, and has more experience than Rodgers. There is nothing to suggest that he will have any problems and will air out for at least 300 yds and rush for 50.

Boller is about as bad Ja-suck-a$$ Russell. He has the same inconsistency (bouncing passes like last week). What makes you think he can strike with the long ball? I’ve seen him play in college several times and was never really impressed. Then again, I was never impressed when he played with the Ravens. Hopefully, the NFL will feel bad for us and let us breach the cap to pick up Garcia as a band-aid.

Don't fool yourself

1) Who do we have to pressure Hill? and Coffee did great after Gore left the game against MN
2)I’m hoping Boller can get the ball to our WRs, but our TEs will have some trouble against the 9ers LBs
3)SJ,SJ,SJ & try the deep ball every now and again.
4)We really need to kick the crap out of Davis to win this game.
Come on Rams, Let get it together!!!

I would think Keenan Burton would have a better day then Avery.

I do not expect the Rams to win this. They are going to get torched every which way.

49ers 30, Rams 13

I hate it, but as one TST contributor aptly stated; “we don’t have enough NFL quality players.” So, it’s 0-4 for the 3rd season in a row. Lord willing I’ll be sitting here paying to watch the Sheep get massacred.

We may be more like Lambs at this point...

You may run like Hayes, but you hit like shit.

I hope not

I can’t stand having to listen to these idiots about their NFC west teams. Damn near everyone round here is either a 49er fan or a Raiders fan, and those fortywhiners let me know how bad my team is doing.
It got to the point last week where the same seahawks fan that gave me crap during week 1 was at the bar. I suddenly became a Bears fan and was letting him here it. Seeing how my girlfriend lives in Chicago, I didn’t think it to be too much of a strech.
However, ripping him all 2nd half to the point where he stopped walking around flapping his wings was so gratifying. I decided i hate him and will invest in a new jersey each week (whoever plays the seagulls) just so that I can talk shit to the guy.
Just as long as we beat SF and Seatle I will be a happy man.

I wish...

Beating the crap out of SF and Seattle would be my main desire too. I’d also like to see us whack NE someday as revenge for the SB fiasco. But, I can’t even visualize us winning at SF this week. Heck, they had the Vikes beat and lost to a Favre last second miracle. And, we don’t have any Favres…

I hope this makes you feel better CaliRam

But I’m a Ram fan from Central Valley, Cali [Fresno (Go Bulldogs)] and the only games I get to go to are in SF or Oaktown and believe me I sport one of many Rams Jerseys, and the $hit talking never stops. i went to the Vikings v 9er game two yrs ago and I don’t know if he actually was, because this guy turn and took off like someone was stealing his car, but I think I made him cry. So even though it seems we can’t win a game, that doesn’t mean you can’t talk mad $hit (but know what your saying).

I lived in the Bay area for 2 years

I nearly went to blows at some bars, and would have gladly done so.

You might not want to tell people about "blows" in San Francisco bars......

Hi-Yo!

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

stop the streak

I would love to see a Rams win against the 49ers but like edpjr said we dont have enough nfl talent personally i dont know what they can possibly do to win this game, Frank Gore is out and it still might not make a difference.

I don't think

we have much of a prayer. I still believe, but part of me looks at the facts and wonders how. Our best receiver is out which means ALL the receivers have to step their game up, which we haven’t seen thus far. We all understand the QB situation. Our LB’s need to be superb and if our DL showed up and put some pressure on that would be great. Oh and don’t miss tackles, yes they have to make their tackles. Hopefully some of those guys off the practice squad will impress.

i have a 9er fan coming over to watch the game w/ me and i hope i don’t have to throw him out = )
