St. Louis Rams vs. Green Bay Packers, week 3

Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis, MO
The Rams officially open the new era at home this week, coming off a tough loss to the Redskins. They'll be looking for their first win on a day when the franchise retires Deacon Jones #75. Hard not to mention the significance of Jones number being retired in front of a team now coached by a defensive minded guy who made his reputation with an aggressive defense that stopped a team, a team all Rams fans can despise just a little, from a perfect season. Plenty of pressure to get the pass rush working today.
On the injury front, the Rams will be without RT Jason Smith, who has a sprained knee. C Jason Brown also has a sprained knee, but will play.
For Green Bay, the injury report is a little more serious. They're without starting LT Chad Clifton, whose presence was sorely missed in the Bengals six sack day last week. They're also without SS Atari Bigby, and a bunch of other players made their injury report this week. Here's a look.

- Interceptions. Ryan Grant will likely struggle again, so Rodgers is going to be passing often. How many picks can we get and what field position will that give us?

I downloaded a program called “Stream Torrent” and found a website that has links for that program.

Bulger, who when he is on is as good as anyone in the league, has been a shadow of himself. A guy comes in with less than impressive career stats and one week of taking serious snaps lights it up?

He’s basically a win more qb, if you’ve got a good team he’ll make them better. But he can’t make a bad team better.

We’ve actually matched them 14-14 in the second QTR. The first quarter was riddled with mistakes, and our D has kept us in the game. Look for more of the same from our D as well as Boller. Funny how we have other players on our offense isn’t it?

Not at all unfair...
not when I consistently point to the fact that the reason we struggle year after year is because of poor drafting. And our poor losses have nothing to do with Jets. Especially our loss to the Redskins last week, who coincidentally, just lost to the Lions.
I guess the Lions have top 5 units too.
It was our draft choices that lost us this game?
Because I believe J. Smith played well last week, and had nothing to do with today. Laurinaitis played well as well. Bradley Fletcher got burnt once, but other than that I don’t see what THIS YEAR’S picks have to do with it. I only spoke of the Jets because you brought Sanchez up as if he couldve helped with our poor D/ O-Line (which played better today but not an elite line by any means). Btw, the Redskins aren’t a good team and I’m willing to bet that if last week’s game was in the Lou, we might have won. They also had Haynesworth the entire game last week. The lions took advantage of an unraveling team.

I think...
We have fundamentally different views, which is okay, because in the end, we’re both fans. But yes, our picks, (this year’s and previous year’s) lost today’s game and 30 of the last 35. You seem to be okay with playing “better” and losing and rationalizing. I am not. This is not Pop Warner, HS or even college. This is the NFL and there are no moral victories.
And as a life-long fan, I spend considerable time analyzing why the team has played so poorly for so long and IMO, it begins and ends with the draft. Sure we can wait another three years to see if this year’s draftees “pan out” or we can look at recent draft history and notice that it is littered with busts: Wroten, Byrd, Lewis, Pickett, Carriker, Hill, Keith Jackson, Jr., Leonard, Klopenstein…
Chew on this: in the last 19 games, the Lions are 1-18 and the Rams are 2-17. Talk all you want about unfair comparisons, we just don’t have enough good players.
