Donnie Avery
I blame Avery for the loss. Clear and simple, he didnt step up and make any plays. Donnie's game was filled with not being able to get separation, a fumble, and dropped passes. We needed him to step up this year and it just isnt happening. We talk about benching incognito but at least he is playing decently when not getting penalties. Besides avery's antics the rams had amazing red zone defense and the offense scored points so I was pumped.

the 1st bad Karma...
was on our initial possession when Bulger, with excellent protection, threw a 3rd down pass behind Avery. Killed a potential drive. Then Avery went to hell afterwards with one f-up after another. The “D”, save for the D-Line, played inspired ball. If those clowns up front could just get 2-3 sacks a game and a run-stuff here and there, we’d win once in a while. Instead they seem to always allow a 3rd and long to become a 1st down. Crap!

I'm not ready to completely forget Avery
but he’s now finding himself on my list (and it’s not good to be on the list….unless you like hanging out with Richie Incognito).
Laurent Robinson is better. Plain and simple. And I think once Ruvell Martin gets acclimated to the offense, he’ll be better too.

Yep, I think it's about time
for Avery to take a seat unless we put four WR on the field, and even then I’m not sure he should be there. He is just being a rockhead this year.

The show me state
Is anyone starting to think they we should have taken Desean Jackson ? He seems to catch everything thrown his way , and is a big play specialist.

Frustrating..
It is very frustrating when year after year players drafted by other teams after the rams turn out to be impact players. I do not know if it is the scouting department or the coaching dept but D. Jackson is a perfect example. Sometimes I wonder if the rams have a scouting dept or they draft based on Mel’s mock draft.

You do realize, the guys you're talking about being missed by the Rams
were all the fault of a management team that is no longer employed by the Rams? Honestly, I’m getting sick and tired of people bitching about Jay Zygmunt and Mike Martz as if they’re still in charge.
They all got fired for a reason. They were bad at player evaluation and stocked the team with shitty players and shitty contracts. Is this supposed to be some revelation we didn’t already know? Is this supposed to qualify as breaking news?
Get over it.

Come on Donnie
Last week against the Seahawks when Steven Jackson busted a big run and put us in striking distance in the first quarter do you remember who got flagged for the holding call that you could tell sparked a nerve in Jackson? Yes it was Donnie Avery. Instead of being in the red zone, we lost 10 yards due to the penalty, then Bulger got sacked and instead of coming away with at least a field goal, we punt. Now today in a two point game where all we need is a field goal to win it, Avery coughs it up by the goal line! I feel that the defense and special teams have been pretty solid (or at least good enough to keep us competetive) but the offense has really been gift wrapping these losses. I also feel that we never should have let go of Ronald Curry.

Avery et.al others
Avery was the best rookie receiver in the NFL last year. He also was out the entire preseason with his foot injury. This is still like preseason for him. Yes, he fumbled but this was only his second game back. I wish people would understand that.
There is also an attitude in Rams’ nation that if a player doesn’t produce right away then they are no good or a bust. D. Jackson did very little last year whereas Avery was the surprise of the year. Chris Long had more sacks last year than Mario Williams did in his rookie year (4-0). But because he is not a sackmaster we want to get rid of him.
We cleaned up a lot of mistakes on Sunday from the Sunday previous. It’s going to take time and an influx of talent. Why do you think Spags is picking up every d-linemen he can to build up the depth. I guarantee you that we will only have about 2 of the linemen that we have right now in 2 years because what we have now is so awful. One of them will be C. Long. The other will probably be Scott or Ryan.
As a fandom, we need to have more patience. MB played well on Sunday. He had a lot more “escapability” in the pocket then he’s had in awhile. He also got hammered on that play when he slid and it should have been a flag. He threw the ball away when there was nobody open and didn’t blame others when it was clear that they blew an assignment that led to problems i.e. sacks, WR not where they were supposed to be, etc.
Games can be won the “Spags” way but we have to have patience and realize that we’re coming from a long way down.
