Hey guys its Tomahawk from Arrowhead Pride the other Missouri team..You guys ready for the goverment cup this Thursday? It looks like neither one of our team will have our starting QBs for the game which sucks but Im still really excited to watch the game. I figured Id feel you guys out on our offseason and then Ill get some of the guys from AP to come over and help answer some questions for you.

The Chiefs offseason has been pretty exciting and the red sea is coming back alive after acquiring a new GM in Scott Pioli and a new head coach in Todd Haley. Since these two guys have been in KC the team has changed quite a bit .Here are a few of our new players:

  • QB Matt Cassel
  • LB Mike Vrabel
  • WR Bobby Engram
  • WR Amani Toomer
  • LB Zach Thomas
  • DB Mike Brown

Today has been a busy day in KC actually...Chan Gailey is no longer our offensive coordinator,Zach Thomas was rumored to have retired but actually it never happened and we found out that Tyler Thigpen played against the Seahawks with two broken ribs.

That is the basic rundown so if you guys have any questions feel free to ask...I for one was wondering on how Jason Smith is looking for you guys this year seeing that I wanted KC to draft him if he made it to us and I would also like to know what are you guys going to be looking for in the game on Thursday?

How is Cassel?

How long will KC be without him?

Are they really trying to trade Thigpen?

Cassel

should be fine he wont get to play against you guys they are saying he will most likely be back to play in week 1 but if not by week2..
Thigpen, yes we have been trying to trade him. The Jags offered us a 5th for him but we turned it down. Word is KC wants a 3rd but after the way he played against the Seahawks I dont see that happening even though we just found out he has two broken ribs

Todd Haley

I know it’s early but what is your impression on how your new coach is doing?

by tbell61 on Sep 1, 2009 11:41 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Hard nosed

Haley has played no favorites this year and is playing no favorites. In matter of fact Bowe has been playing with the 3rd string all preseason. It will be interesting to see how he does now that he is not only the head coach but after the firing of Gailey he will now also take over the O Coordinator job. Our D has stepped it up a lot but we have only managed to score 34 points combined in our first 3 preseason games.

Jason Smith...

…has struggled, but he’s also shown flashes of the talent that made him the #2 pick. I suppose at this point, the most encouraging thing is how visible his desire is. It isn’t just the coaches/players saying “he wants it,” you can tell he’s working hard on every play. I think that, if we didn’t already have a solid LT in Alex Barron, Smith would be starting rather than facing the adjustment to the right side, which he’s struggled with a bit. That being said, most of us are hoping he can work his way into the starting lineup by opening day because of the sheer strength and talent he brings to the line. Spagnuolo wants to bring him around slowly, and make sure he earns it. I would expect him to enter the starting lineup no sooner than when he is truly ready, and my guess is that it’ll be soon. By the way, that Haley guy is an excellent play-caller. I can attest to that by how we’ve been dominated by the Cardinals in recent seasons. I don’t care how much talent they have, you still need a play-caller that can take advantage of the players’ strengths, and I’m sure it’ll be no different in KC. I think his taking over play-calling is a good move.

I wanted KC to get Jason Smith too....

…so we could’ve got Sanchez or Curry or Raji. You guys stole Cassel, But don’t count on much from Vrabel or Toomer.

Toomer

was a cut day victim today hes no longer a Chief…Vrabel is more of a leader than a big playmaker but I wouldnt count him out on making some plays he still making tackles and getting his hands up. He tipped a ball up against Seattle that ended up being a pick 6 for Brandon Flowers. He can still move for an old man lol Yes we got a hell of a deal on Cassel just hoping we can protect him with our weak Oline I think hes going to have to be making a lot of plays running around if some changes arent made.

With Cassel out, it was announced that Brodie Croyle

will be the starting QB for the Chiefs this game.
