Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Larry Grant

This is the first thing ive ever posted on here, im new but whats everyone think of Larry Grant? He seemed pretty good last night, personally I thought he looked better than Draft. Not only that, but hes younger, he used to play with Laurinaitis so they would work well together, and he also has more potential than Draft because of the age. Anyone think we should give him a shot on the starting LB corps? Dont get me wrong though, Draft is a great veteran and i like the guy, Im just brainstormin

I totally agree, it makes sense to put grant in there. The only concern I have is that he wont turn out like Quinton Culberson. We tried to give him a staring job last year kind of and it just didnt work out.

Grant looks sharp

and he’s making tackles, which is more than you can about some other players

Grant looking for playing time

I think that Draft will probably start bassed on exp but when Grant get more playing time he will eventually win the starting position. He makes tackles and is a very physical football player that i think will surprise some people.

i agree

i think draft is bound to start just because of his exp. i really do hope grant steps up and stays in a high gear. or else we are gunna have to draft a young outside linebacker next year somewhere, which wouldnt be all to bad considring some of the players that are gunna be there

Aye

Yes, this is the only real move I think we can make personel wise. We had Draft last year, and Culberson started in his place. With two weeks left in the preseason Im hoping for the leap of faith to grant. Plays big, plays fast, and tackles well. Reminds me of Mark Fields back in the day. Havent seen alot of pass coverage though.
