Hola, amigos!

Dave the Falconer here from The Falcoholic. Some of you grizzled veterans here at TST may remember me from the end of last season. With our pre-season game coming up, I thought I'd drop by and see if you have any questions about the Falcons for the upcoming year that I can help answe before the two teams hit the field.

Also, because he's on my fantasy team and I just plain like the guy, here's hoping Donnie Avery recovers quickly. I see big things ahead for him.

Feeling good, actually

We’ve got some quality depth, and Stephen Nicholas and Mike Peterson might form a better tandem right away. I loved Brooking, but the dude was getting very, very old.

But he’s currently out with an injury and has likely lost the starting job to Thomas DeCoud.

He's got the talent

He just never displayed enough of it to move up the depth chart in Atlanta. Real good wheels, though, and he and Donnie Avery would stretch the field pretty well.

Question on Laurent Robinson

Do you regret the trade, especially in light of the injury to Harry Douglas?

Considering that we were able to get a couple of guys who might stick on the roster

I don’t entirely regret it. I like L-Rob, but he was more than likely never going to show up among our top three receivers, so we swung the trade.

That said, could we use him now? Oh hell yes.

Turner's Workload

Is very rare for a running back to lead the league in carries in back to back years. Do you anticipate the Falcons running less this year, or Michael Turner splitting time with another back? If splitting time, who will get those carries and how much of a split will it be?

Lived in LA during the Rams and Raiders days. Now based in NorCal, I am still a die hard Rams fan and Raiders season ticket holder.
