And we're off...the first practice of the St. Louis Rams 2009 training camp is in the books
It must have looked a lot more like spring practices with players in shorts, and since today is just for rookies and QBs, I suspect the day's sessions are as much a playbook refresher as anything else. It certainly sounds that way.
The big news of the day (so far) is that Derek Stanley is healthy and practicing at full speed again. Remember, he was limited throughout the spring practices. Stanley is competing for the KR job, but would also like to earn more time at WR.
A couple of the rookies mentioned earlier today in our rookie report got some mentions for their work on the practice field, including WR Sean Walker and CB Cord Parks.
The second practice is at 2:15 p.m. Will Jason Smith be there?

Wasted Day to Allow for Late Signings to Get In
I don’t know if you can have a refresher for rookies who weren’t there last year. I think the first day is kind of a mulligan to allow late signers like JSmith to get in.
Lived in LA during the Rams and Raiders days. Now based in NorCal, I am still a die hard Rams fan and Raiders season ticket holder.
