Cowboys cut OLB Greg Ellis
The Cowboys released 34-year-old OLB Greg Ellis. Last season, Ellis managed to collect 8 sacks after coming off a career year in which he had 13 sacks.
It's not a stretch to think the guy can still play, especially as a specialist in part of a rotation. Could he be of interest to the Rams? Without a doubt, the Rams could always use another pass rusher, but signing Ellis would give them another DE who will be 34-years-old to start the season, the other being Leonard Little. They also have James Hall, last season's sack leader, who's 32. Signing a player in his thirties doesn't fit with the direction the Rams have been moving this spring, making over their roster into one of the league's youngest.
This report at Rotoworld suggested the Rams look into his services

NONONO
I was worried we would get mentioned in this. Ellis is a pure 3-4 edge threat. He’s too lean for a 4-3 DE, like Aaron Maybin. That’s not to say Ellis can’t still be successful (much like Little), but he needs the right scheme. The Rams don’t fit.
Your uncle molests collies.
And that rotoworld article has it wrong
I expect him to either head to Carolina, another NFC East team, or a competitive team in the AFC with a 3-4

Unless he could somehow play outside linebacker for us,
I will have to say no.
S-St. Louis, R-Rams, D-Dallas, M-Mavericks, A-Arizona, D-Diamondbacks.
And he is definitely not
a 4-3 OLB

Yea, I saw that. Ellis is getting old, but is still a solid player. He would fit in well with the Pats. They were going after PEppers so I guess they need a 3-4 LB who can rush the passer.

We've signed this guy before, and his name is LaRoi Glover
Aging, good reputation but declining skills, a “tweener” size wise, cut by Dallas… seems like I’ve heard this all before.
1909-2008: A Century of Suck
what?
Dont compare these two. LaRoi Glover hasnt been bad, before last year (which the whole team was bad) he had 38 tackles and 5.5 sacks ’06 and 39 tackles and 6 sacks ’07. thats right there with people like Albert Haynsworth and Kevin Williams or are those guys aging and declining in skills too?
