Brian Leonard traded to the Bengals for DT Orien Harris
Is this a Spagnuolian (copyright) rebuilding of our D-line akin to what he was able to develop in New York?

Good deal.
The Bengals love our third-stringers. First Ryan Fitzpatrick and now Leonard join the ranks. At first glance, a player like Orien Harris (six teams in three years, started one game total) is just a depth add, but perhaps Spagnuolo sees something he likes.

If Harris becomes a positive contributor in the D Line rotation
then this is a great move because I didn’t see much of a roll for Leonard this year.
We need a pitcher...not a DL itcher!

Spag Loves His Defense!
…and besides, prior to the trade the Rams had five running backs, Antonio Pittman, Brian Leonard, Kenneth Darby, Samkon Gado and the new guy, 7th round draft pick Chris Ogbonnaya. Now count how many “legitimate” DTs we have… three, Adam Carriker, Clifton Ryan and the new guy, Darell Scott. The bottom line is Spag is no dummy. If he called the shots on this trade, and I have no doubt he did, he has good reasons. And of course there’s always the "inside knowledge" factor. The coaches know more about what’s going on with their players than we do.
Also, just ask yourself, what has Leonard ever really done for the Rams? Remember he was there number 2 pick. Has he played like a number 2 pick?
Go Rams!

i think you are preaching to the choir here....
its clear that the rams dealt from a position of depth (backup RB/3rd down back) to get some depth where they need bodies…

Exactly
We needed one more DL to fill out the rotation and he’s probably good enough to fill that role.
Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky and I went horseback riding, but there weren't any horses around? Anyway, Brasky throws a saddle on my back and rides me around Wyoming for three days. Well, wouldn't ya know it, my stamina increased with each day, and I develop tremendous leg muscles. So anyway, Brasky decides to enter me into the Breeders Cup under the name Turkish Delight. And Im running in second place, and I'm running, and I break my ankle. So anyway, they're about to shoot me. Then someone from the crowd yells out, God bless him, Dont shoot him, he's a human.

Win for Leonard too
he gets a much better chance to make a case for playing time…not as many actors on the stage, so to speak, and he gets a fresh start.

With the Right Team
I think Lenoard can do well anf the Bengals might just be that team. I always like him but never thought he’d ever be a super start.

Next?
Now if we can get a useful player in exchange for Joe Klopfenstein, I’ll declare Devaney the greatest GM in town since the heydey of Walt Jocketty.

A useful player for Klop?!
I’d be glad if we traded him for some new socks.
Jay Zygmunt, now that you have fired yourself, please have yourself hired by Seattle. Thanks.
