The St. Louis Rams signed Kyle Boller on Saturday to be the backup to starting quarterback Marc Bulger.
"We are happy to add Kyle to our roster," new coach Steve Spagnuolo said in a statement. "We feel that he'll be a valuable addition to our team."
The Rams have signed Kyle Boller to be the backup to Marc Bulger for the 2009 season. The late-breaking P-D report is here, but it also lacks details of the deal except to say it's a two-year deal. Hat tip to strike77 for breaking the news on TST.

Sooooo happy
we didn’t settle for Frerotte as our backup. With Boller, you have that arm, still with some upside, and a guy who can at least push Bulger if he were to struggle. Frerotte’s brief time in the WC offense wasn’t nearly enough to justify taking him over a young, hungry guy like Boller. Another great move in an offseason full of great moves.
