Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

...there is a growing belief in league circles that the Rams — who already have quarterback Marc Bulger — are taking a serious look at the former Trojan standout.

With one day to go before the NFL draft, Sanchez is rapidly becoming the man of the hour, the linchpin player who's likely to determine the direction of the draft from the top.

"Teams have been doing more and more work on him," said an NFL personnel executive — but not with the Rams. "They're starting to realize that he may be worth the risk to move up."

Let's face it...

There’s at least a 50% chance that the last two seasons weren’t flukes and Marc Bulger is really done. Having Boller as backup QB versus Frerotte or Green sure helps, but it may be in the team’s best interest to draft Sanchez, or even Stafford if he’s available. There will be plenty of opportunites in the later rounds to pick up quality OT’s.

Why QB now though?

I don’t understand the rush to Sanchez. Maybe it’s just me.

Jay Zygmunt, now that you have fired yourself, please have yourself hired by Seattle. Thanks.

the reason

The Redskins or Jets would probably trade half their team for Sanchez. And, the Rams need bodies. Different bodies than those that played in 2007 and 2008. So far there’s been only one upgrade (Butler) on that woeful defense. The last thing the Rams need to do is waste the 2nd overall pick on a mediocre OT when there are so many others of similar talent available in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. So, getting Sanchez could be trade bait OR he could be the QB of the future, say 2010? Maybe he could even move around or scramble unlike Bulger. And, if we don’t go for Sanchez, I hope at least it’s Curry, Raji or even Crabtree. The “D” needs at least a couple more new players to be credible. But I’d take an immediate impact player about anywhere….
