As we hear it, Stafford is telling his former Bulldog teammates that he’ll be the pick, and that he’ll receive more than $40 million, guaranteed, under the contract that the team will pay him.
Stafford is characterizing the move as a "done deal."
Take it for what it's worth, btu Pro Football Talk is reporting that Stafford is telling his old Georgia teammates he's going to Detroit. Interesting stuff...

That gives us our pick
of Curry, Smith and Crabtree. That’s my order of preference for them. I wouldn’t go with a WR with that high of a pick.

$40 Million gauranteed
that’s a fairly reasonable (all things being relative) price tag for a first overall pick. JaMarcus Russell money it ain’t.

Thats the best
possible scenario for the rams. Because Stafford was out of our radar, and let’s us move away from our “what if detroit picks…” talks

Wasn't Det Negotiating with
all potential Number 1’s? They probably agreed upon acceptable salary ranges with all so they knew where the signability is with all. I would think that they wouldn’t be putting out gaurantees this far out from the draft…
But if so – we know who to choose from which makes a little easier – also gives other teams ability to trade up IF someone is that high on Sanchez/Crabtree (though I doubt it – I’m sure the Rams would ask for a lot in return for the #2)
