Around SBN: Which Players Will Join The 3,000-Hit Club?

...the closer we get to the NFL Draft the more I’m thinking it will be hard for the Rams to pass on Wake Forest LB Aaron Curry with the No. 2 overall pick. Coach Steve Spagnuolo needs to build a defense, and right now the Rams don’t have a player to build around. Curry can be that guy.

I'm thinking and feeling the same way.

I get a "D" in common sense ... and an "F" in general helping.

I am already for a pro Curry draft

but after the signing of Bejema – its getting that much closer to being an easy call for the front office. Picked up the best C available in FA, a blocking FB, and a blocking TE to assist in the run game. Couple those moves with a deep OL draft and I see it very hard not to pick Curry…

Curry or Crabtree

I think either of these guys has a bright future. Maybe Curry will rival LT or Ray Lewis while Crab mirrors Jerry Rice or Randy Moss. The Rams have SO many holes to fill that I hope the overall 2nd pick is an impact player like these guys instead of a boring O-Line pick similar to Alex Barron. There should be plenty of quality OT’s available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. And somewhere in there we need another big mean D-Linemen to help support our top “D” players; Curry?, Butler, Atogwe, Bartell and Witherspoon.

Curry, Yeah boy.

If maleuga or cushing is still around I’d grab him up too. We have to NOT think we have 7 draft picks this year but that we have 14 draft picks in the next 2 drafts. We will not be good this year anyway so draft purely for talent we need defense. I’d even go Dline if we couldn’t pick say Laurinitis. How about Brace Hood or Perry. Lineman in the draft are so much more numerous and top heavy with respect to the top 50 to 100. theres a couple of guards, centers as well as 12 tackles. Don’t waste the 3rd tru 7 picks on cbs, sss, or wrs that aren’t going to perform for us anyway, Free agency provides for flexibility at draft time. We need to take advantage of that flexibility.
