Game tapes from 2008?
This is an open question for the group. I'd like to go back and get some sort of game tape from last season, preferably something that had a video clip of every play of every game, including penalties. I see that iTunes sells "highlights" from each game... (But if all they were showing were Rams highlights, we'd get the Dallas game, the press conferences announcing Zygmunt's firing, Devaney's hiring, Spagnuolo's hiring, and that's about it.) Has anyone tried these? Is it worth 25 clams? If not, is there another source out there?

Game Tape
This isn’t directly an answer to your question, but I thought I would share how I did this in the past. For part of the 2007 season I was really into trying to get “game tape” of the Rams games so I could go through them and see how people did. The way I did it was using a computer with Windows Media Center. I had a coaxial cable line directly hooked into my computer and I would record every Rams game. Then I used a video editing program to take that file, convert it to something usable, and edit out commercials and breaks. In the end I would have a video that was just every play back to back and was pretty quick to watch.
The cons of this were that it was really time consuming. It probably took me a few hours to go through and edit it the way I wanted plus you need to have a computer with Windows Media Center to do that. But if you have the time and a computer that can do that it does work.
Now my computer is upstairs and not hooked into a cable line. I have a Tivo and I was thinking about trying to do a similar thing (editing the .tivo files and making a video) but I haven’t looked into it recently. Again this would be a lot of work so I don’t know if I am up to it. I think I am going to try to save every Rams game on my Tivo all season so I could go back and watch if I wanted to. Again you have to have a DVR to do this and the disk space to keep all the videos (and it wouldn’t be editied).
I have never seen the iTunes highlights or anything like that so I can’t talk about them. $25 sounds like a lot to me for some highlights. How long are the videos? For $25 I would expect a video of the whole game (but maybe that is unrealistic).
Just thought I would share my brief experience with NFL game tape.
I might have to break down and buy one of those myself.
I’m a TV luddite – no cable, no dish, and my daughter had to twist my arm to buy one of the converter boxes after we started losing her favorite channels.
The iTunes videos are between 8-15 minutes long … there’s no way they contain every play. But they might have enough to be useful.

Gosh - let's try to forget 2008
I watched all 16 games on direct TV and came away with a gut ache from 14 of ‘em. I’d like to forget Linehan, Haslet, Zygmunt and more than half the players ASAP.
I’d like to forget name, name, Zygmunt
That’s all I heard
Jay Zygmunt, now that you have fired yourself, please have yourself hired by Seattle. Thanks.
