mock drafting the rams

hello folks.

i am representing the rams over at stampedeblue's mock draft, and i'm looking for input...

obviously offensive tackle is a need.  out of the "big 4" who do you all like the most?   it seems pretty clear to me that with holt gone there is also a gaping hole at receiver.  are there any proponents out there for taking crabtree at number 2?

i am not all that familiar with the rams' personnel.  what areas on the roster are the most stable?  (outside of rb and qb.)

I say take LB-Curry in the 1st, he is the best player available and fills a huge need at LB. Then take WR- Robiskie or Britt in the 2nd and then T- either Meredith, Loadholt, or Cadogan in the 3rd.. Yes we need OL help but the draft is deep at this position and we need RT not a left. You don’t pay a RT $ 60 million at # 2 overall.. The WR position will still have good options in the 2nd round not so good in the 3rd and there will be a few tackles still around in the 3rd. You can fill 3 starting positions with smart picks in all 3 rounds. If you go tackle 1st, there will be a LB there in the 2nd but not the quality of Curry. If you go WR in the 3rd it will not be as good as Robiskie or Britt.. So LB, WR, T and then maybe CB in the 4th, RB in the 5th for a backup for Jackson, DT- Chris Baker from Hampton in the 6th, and maybe a KR-PR in the 7th…

Round of Applause!

That was absolutely perfect. Every pick was head on. I have no argument whatsoever. If thats how our draft turned out then i would be one happy guy.

Jason Smith

Monroe seems like a solid pick also, but I think the Rams will take Smith with the better upside. If they can get something of value for trading down a couple picks I’m all for that as it is true we’d still get a great tackle. If they think one is superior just stay at #2 and ensure we get him.

What is the difference between vlad001 and a moron? Only vlad doesn't know the answer.

i agree

Smith is probably the better one, but damn, It just sucks having to let Curry slip away, 5 years from now, i’ll know if they made the right choice

Rams really sholud pick Curry

Hi.

I think the rams should pick Aaron Curry with the 2nd Pick of the Draft.
Curry seems to be the safest pick of the whole draft. An if you have a look at our LB-situation you may see, that it is not much better than our Line-situation!
The thing is: The OL-Draft-Class seems to be much deeper than the LB-Class!
I think we still could pick a Starting-LT in Meredith who will/could fall to Round 2. And if not, there are still guys like Unger!

So: pick Curry!

mock

First choice is trade down. If not it’s Curry.

In the second round there will be a player that falls that we didn’t expect. “I can’t believe he’s still there”. He’s our guy.

Trade down

Take Curry or trade down, take Maclin and get the extra pick.

trading down wasn’t an option, as it turned out.

and curry was the #1 pick overall.

i ended up going with bj raji. i feel like this draft is way deeper at OL and WR than it is at DL, and we’ve all seen what steve spagnuolo can do with a glut of talent along the d-line. with carriker, long, and raji, (not to mention dui little,) i feel like any other deficiencies along the defensive front would be covered up pretty well.

feel free to head on over to stampedeblue.com later to discuss.

thanks for your time.

Don’t waste the number two pick on a player that adds depth to the O-line. We already have Alex Barron, Mark Setterstrom, Jason Brown, Richie Incognito, Jacob Bell, Mark Greco, Adam Goldberg and Roy Schuening. Take Aaron Curry with the first, the best wideout available in the second and then the best O-lineman in the third.
