Rams must win!!!!

I have a bet on this game for money and if we lose not only do I lose some money but I have to wear bears clothing and take a picture and leave that picture as my default facebook picture for a month

Game Stream

Since I know everyone will be asking…

Go to http://www.myp2pforum.eu/nfl-cfl-afl/47535-streaming-thread-2009-nfl-season-week-13-a.html . There is a TVants stream there for the game. It is P2P software so the game won’t get shutdown by the NFL halfway through. Stream is working for me already.

GO RAMS. Have a good feeling about this one!

Guys, does ANYONE have a Steve Savard radio link?

These Fox guys destroy my ears week in, week out. Please? Spare me? I live in LA so I don’t get radio streams, but I used to when the Rams games were the televised ones on Fox. Please?

This is so hard isn't it?

I care about the dudes playing today…I want them to win, especially Steven, but 4.5 sacks against Texas has me thinking we need to lose. This feels…wrong…but so right.

Again, that doesn't mean anything...

…you can’t predict how a guy’s career will turn out based on past failures. Also, our coaches have never been defensive specialists. Spags is a D-Line specialist. There’s every reason to think this will work well.

not a bad effort from the front 7 there

by hisTALLness on Dec 6, 2009 12:15 PM CST reply actions

ok...

so Cutler throws deep so far… good- keep him doing that and he’s likely to throw at least 2 picks- and if we can do something with those- we’re in it… (call me mr. optimism)

by thehalobender on Dec 6, 2009 12:16 PM CST reply actions

Rams telecasts are so bad.

They can never make a smooth transition out of replays.
Rams need to step it up on offense, and the secondary does too. We’re really using Jackson carefully. One carry and then comes out.

Can't think of a good sig

by Carneros on Dec 6, 2009 12:17 PM CST reply actions

Tough drive

D-line looking decent. Coverage continues to be an issue. CB may not be the biggest need, but if Bradley Fletcher can’t be himself next season, a year from now we’ll be pining for a top CB.

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

by 3k on Dec 6, 2009 12:17 PM CST reply actions

agreed, but...

This draft is supposed to be a poor one for CB’s, especially on the top end. We have so many needs, we can’t afford to reach for any particular position. I could definitely see us taking a CB in the 3rd-5th round though, if someone decent is available.

by apack on Dec 6, 2009 12:20 PM CST up reply actions

Maybe address it through free agency instead

usually takes a while for the CBs to learn the position in the NFL

by hisTALLness on Dec 6, 2009 12:21 PM CST up reply actions

yikes. Some new position coaches during the offseason would help.

by 81 Witness on Dec 6, 2009 12:18 PM CST reply actions

yeah

The first long pass was underthrown because of the hit on Cutler. Our DB’s just aren’t responding to the ball though. On both of the long throws, one of our guys was in a better position to catch the ball than the WR, but we didn’t make a good effort on either play.

by apack on Dec 6, 2009 12:21 PM CST up reply actions

And thats why

he’s a career backup.

Gotta step into that throw

by hisTALLness on Dec 6, 2009 12:23 PM CST up reply actions

But that problem should be Null-ified soon.
See what I did there?

2nd down – run for 2 yards
3rd down -incomplete pass or sack

well let's do half-time grades then

QB: C-, ineffective early, and sacks hurt. looked good on the last drive.

RB: A, Jackson’s a stud! 75 yards even when hurt and behind banged-up line.

WR: D, no one seems to be open downfield. Fumble by Gibson really hurt.

OL: C+, it has been up-and-down, but running lanes have been there, and Boller has generally had time..

TE: C, haven’t made much of a difference either way.

DL: C+, a little bit of pressure, and have contained the Bears’ running game.

LB: B, generally effective.

CB: D-, gave up a couple of big plays and missed on three good chances for pick-offs.

S: D, also missed on the big plays.

ST: A-, punting game has been excellent, opening kick-off was a head-scratcher

Yes

The defense gets tired because the offense makes them stay on the field the entire game. The DL isn’t perfect, but absent SJ the cupboard is 100% BARE on offense. There is talent on the defensive side.

A great QB would solve all of our offensive problems.

I feel like our line is good, our RB is great, and our Receivers are okay, but that doesn’t add up. If all three of those things were good we would be scoring. So we have some work to do.

Disagree to an extent

Our WRs are terrible. Need a #1 desperately, and then everything might fall into place a little more solidly. Still, they obviously need a QB first and foremost. I can’t watch another year of the Bulger/Boller show. And don’t start on Null, he’s going to be a career backup at best. Need some top-tier talent.

People didn’t feel great about Ryan or Flacco either. Sometimes you just need to take a shot instead of “playing it safe” over and over with OL/DL players. This is not working.

i'd be happy to take any of those guys

The Rams will finish 1-15 this year

What’s left to be afraid of? Every single year this team’s fan base is scared to death to take a QB in the first round. Meanwhile, we bust on OL/DL picks constantly. I just don’t understand it. Look at what Ryan has done in ATL. That’s what this team needs.

by Doughboy RAM on Dec 6, 2009 2:58 PM CST up reply actions

If there was a Peyton Manning in the draft then I'd say we should

but their is nothing near that this year. What does taking an average QB do for us? Nothing. You can improve your team in better ways.

Peyton Manning comes along once in a generation

We’ll wait for 20 years before you get a QB of that caliber again. Should the Rams go that long before they FINALLY address the elephant in the room that our QBs are absolutely atrocious?

by Doughboy RAM on Dec 6, 2009 3:00 PM CST up reply actions

We have a first round QB right now

his name is Kyle Boller. There’s no QB in the draft worth taking that high. Suh makes our defense a lot better and a QB probably doesn’t do much more than what we already have. Lets wait for Blaine Gabbert in the 2011 or 2012 draft. Great size and great QB. Look what happened to Mizzou when he was hurt. They didn’t win.

by Doughboy RAM on Dec 6, 2009 3:06 PM CST up reply actions

Time will tell.

I don’t think any of them are worth that money. And Peyton Manning’s come along every 20 years, but there’s not even an Eli Manning, or a Philip Rivers. I think we’re better off taking a later rounder.
