Our uniforms

Is there anyway to convince the the Rams franchise to wear the throwback uniforms again? They're great and it would be kind of a fresh start next season. They look so much better that the ones we're using now. Our current uniform just doesn't look good compared to the ones the Rams wore against the Texans. If we can't win games we should at least look good trying. Any suggestions on how to get the Rams to change their uniforms?

I voted current unis

about 40 seconds before you posted this comment.

I just don't see how the yellow and blue looks good.

Personally, I like the color scheme we have now as long as we never wear gold pants. If you want to change, I’d go with the original (or closer to original) blue and white.

The blue and yellow just screams the 1980s to me. And I’m not real positive I can think of anything from the 80s I’d like to wear today.

I know it’s not supposed to be about style, but it kinda is. I wouldn’t walk out of my house wearing either of those shades of blue and yellow together, so that just tells me something.

I understand

Our current unis are OK. But i would definitely prefer to have those blue and yellow ones over them. I grew up watching the Rams play with the blue and yellow ones. I think they look great and still have have one of them. The only thing i would wear from the 80s is the old Rams jersey. Anything else was burned a LONG time ago

What about the

FANNY PACK. That was a classic that has never gone out of style….I still wear mine with my Hammer Pants

The yellow and blue looked great from 1973 through the 2000 Super Bowl.

I can’t stand that silly ass navy blue and “gold.” There certainly ain’t nothing golden about our team the last three seasons. We look especially bad in the all tightie whities and all navy blue combos.

Blue and yellow are the throwback colors

More like screams Cleveland Rams and thats the point. Thats why I and many others voted to switch to them from the blue and white colors. The uniforms they have now just suck. They need to go back to the previous uniforms from before the SB era.

I like the throwbacks but the current uni's

just don’t have the same snap. They need a refresh. Bad.

I believe in 2010

I keep hearing the same thing

It’s not that people actually like the blue and yellow color scheme, it’s that it has sentimentality.

Personally, I couldn’t care less about that stuff. I just want the unis to look good and if you wouldn’t put that yellow and blue together in any other circumstance than on the Rams unis for the sole purpose of “that’s what I remember” or “we won a Super Bowl wearing those colors” then I disagree with it being valid.

Actually, it is valid, just say so. Don’t say it looks better, because it doesn’t. It might have more sentimentality or meaning or memories or whatever, but it’s not a better color scheme. People were wanting the colors changed from the blue and yellow for many reasons. One being that the colors were yech, and the other being that they wanted distance themselves a little from the LA Rams.

They kept the horns and the name and just changed the colors a little. Not too horrific of a change IMO. Although I do wonder if the old LA fans would still be fans of this team had they changed the name.

I’d like to see the Blue and White from the Deacon Jones-Merlin Olsen-Roman Gabriel days of the L.A. Coliseum. Never been a huge fan of either the yellow or gold.

I felt the same about the blue and white

but with the Colts and now the Chargers changing their color scheme, I’m not as sold on the blue and white as I once was.

Yellow & Blue; Blue & White

Always thought it’d be cool to see a modern version of the Rams’ old blue & white. I like the yellow & blue for the same nostalgic reasons you mentioned Tackle Box, but i like the late 90’s style of it. The one thing ive never liked about them however, is the leg stripe on the pants. Lose the stripe (and maybe even alter the yellow shade a bit, ie: Michigan Wolverines) & I think we’d have a winner for a long time. We should use those, & throw in the white & blue as a throwback/ change-up.

by Matty78 on Dec 21, 2009 11:19 PM CST up reply actions

For their history

The Rams had the white and blue uniforms for a small part of the time. Most of their history has had them with yellow horns (or some shade of yellow) and now their gold horns.

I’d prefer the yellow gold, but I can live with the white horns. Not a real fan of the current scheme.

I like the old schools, but still prefer the "Greatest Show" new schools

Yes, we won the Super Bowl outta nowhere with our old school blue and yellows, so I love bringing them out a couple times a year, but for me I just think of all those TDs we scored and the swagger we had the first year we busted out our current uniforms. However, I wish we’d go back to those same color combos we used then—I loved the blue top/gold pants home uniforms. When we go blue/white we look too much like the Chargers.

I don't know why, but I really like these.

It’s probably the royal blue.

by Tackle Box on Dec 22, 2009 4:14 PM CST up reply actions

The point was

sure the Rams have had some great players, but we’ve also had some turds.

Saying the color of the uniforms should be a certain way for the simple reason that it reminds one of the “good” times is short-sighted.

It’s like when someone breaks up with a boyfriend or girlfriend then like a month or 2 later they get back together because all they can think about is how great the relationship was. Problem is, they often ignore the bad things when looking back.

Not to say that we “broke up” with the yellow and blue (although we kinda did), but remembering only the “good” times and thinking that has anything to do with anything is off a bit.

Bottom line, the team switched colors because the wanted to create an identity for the ST. LOUIS Rams. The LA Rams wore blue and yellow. The St. Louis Rams wear dark blue and gold. That’s their identity. Feel fortunate they’re still called the Rams and have the horns on the helmet, because I can assure you that both of those were considered for changing. Instead, they kept the most significant signs of the franchise but tweaked the colors.

And it’s not changing back. Not unless they somehow end up back in Los Angeles.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

by Tackle Box on Dec 23, 2009 5:52 PM CST up reply actions

I think the team may, in fact, be heading back to LA in a few years.

The NFL wants that large TV audience back. I think it’s especially likely IF the Rams improve too. Back in the days of the old Blue and Yellow, the Rams were frequently on MNF and National TV double headers. Today, if you don’t have direct TV, it’s impossible to see them lose even one game per year. Aside from the above, I think the TST fans have generally voted the Blue and Yellow as their favorite colors.

by edpjr on Dec 24, 2009 10:58 PM CST up reply actions

The point was and should still be

A teams unis, colors, mascot are symbols of its character. They are supposed to be traditional. Blue and yellow is what they started with way back in Cleveland. Those colors are more remeniscent of Cleveland than they are of LA. At least to those of us that have been following them for awhile. The Rams won an NFL championship and a SB in them. I don’t know if its my age or maybe I’m just to hung up on being traditional but I prefer the blue/yellow color scheme.

Throwbacks really!?!?

Those are some of the ugliest jerseys I have ever seen. They are ugly there is a reason we got rid of them in 2000.

Yellow and Blue

I like the colors. No other reason

by dbcouver on Dec 22, 2009 12:52 AM CST reply actions

I'd like to see the Blue/White throwbacks

those just look like some, let’s get into some shit uniforms. i also like todays unis, they are freakin clean. as for the Blue/Yellow, i was a fan of the team not the uni. i still own the colors but they just don’t go together very well.

when we picked up Marshall, i found this white colts jersey w/ Marshall’s name and number. i thought it was the coolist shit. it looked like the Rams old white w/ blue jersey from the our bad ass days. it was an authentic, stiched numbers and name, for under 50 clams. i was walking it to the counter when someone asked me about the colts, thinking i was a fan, so i put it back because I AM A RAMS FAN and i didn’t need anyone thinking anything different.

and CaliRamFan please throw away your butt bag!

Two options

All bright yellow or uniforms made out of actual Rams fur. Horns too if the league will let us.
But I didn’t vote for that.

Can't think of a good sig

"80's Style"

The Rams won their only Super Bowl wearing those beautiful yellow and gold “80’s Style” uniforms. I have been saying they need to switch back to the old school colors cuz these “new” uni’s are just not cutting it.

I see Isaac Bruce says

he wishes the Rams would go back to the 1999 colors permanently. I don[’t know that anyone will make a decision based on that, but it was an interesting comment. They did add to the flash of the Greatest Show on Turf.
