I understand where you're coming from...

…it hurts to say: “I want my team to lose.” I don’t want them to lose on one hand because I know there’s 53 guys (and a coaching staff) that put in work to try to get a win. At the same time, having the #1 pick assures us the opportunity to get whichever player we deem most crucial to our project (Suh IMO).

I want them to play well, and if they win, they deserve it because you know the Texans aren’t giving it to them. I still hope we lose narrowly though.

I'm not rooting for our guys to tank...

…Lord knows they need a W for their psyche. I mean, Steven is going to go crazy eventually.

BUT, there’s a long term plan here, and a #1 pick can help us more than anything.

Also, he led the team in sacks and batted balls last year too. He performed well his 4th year, and he’s played fantastic his 5th year. Not to mention he reminds me of J. Smith with his no nonsense approach. Seems humble too. And not the fake “I’m in the spotlight” humble.

Most people’s draft status is based on one special year. He’s arguably had two, it’s just this one reached epic levels (with the Heisman finish and all).

I just don’t see how it can fail if Spags is coaching him since his rookie season and he has a smart Mike Linebacker behind him, as well as a decent secondary and a solid companion in Clifton Ryan.
