Null has likened his stayle to Peyton Manning

"I’m definitely a pocket quarterback, a pocket passer. I’m quick enough to get out of things in the pocket. I’m not straight-away fast, that’s not my thing. It’s sort of like I would say a Peyton Manning kind of style. Just sitting in the pocket and wheeling and dealing it to the real athletes out there."

From Scouts Inc

“Keith Null possesses the measurables of a drop-back passer. He shows improvement in working through receiver progressions and decision making. He does possess touch when throwing the eight and nine routes.”

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Shouldn’t this apply to AxJax?

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

Survey Why doesn't Shurmer Open It Up?

1) He doesn’t have the talent to do so, so stays conservative
2) He simply isn’t, and it’s because he’s not very good
3) Give me another reason

mostly 1, but possibly 2

it’s not like he’s proven he’s good, I’m just willing to accept that he doesn’t have much to work with.

1)

I think our biggest offensive need is WR. If there’s anything these last few games show, it’s that Bulger was doing ok with the worst WRs in the league. By ok, I mean a 70 rating and a near win over the Saints.

We just don’t have the WRs. Our number 1 would be a number 3 or 4 on another team.

Null obviously isn;t ready to start full time BUT

He definitely has poise and compsure, he looks like he could develop into something if they give him reps. I like him. I don’t know if he can be ready in time, but I like him.

We need the BPA...

…period. Suh happens to fit a need. He’ll be a Ram if the Buccs can win another game.

In other words

If we take SUH, is a QB worth drafting versus starting Null

a little early for that.

Maybe a FA stopgap is what we need?

Null has good mechanics

on throws. I dont know how his drop back footwork is by now, but his arm looks good and his follow through is sweet

10 penalties today so far.. .ties season high

I think Null has potential.

We are frustrated because no matter who we put out there we lose

If I ran the Rams...

one thing I’d do is have Null in every day in the off season, working working working…..to see if he could get there in time (not to the practice field, but to the level they need him at)

by CoachConnors on Dec 13, 2009 6:17 PM CST reply actions

My thoughts for the game

Shurmur knows Null better than we do. He knows what his limitations are. If you can’t move the ball against the rams D in practice then you are probably not ready to start (I’m just speculating because they chose Boller over him) The other starters should’ve at least tried to help out their rookie QB instead of committing dumb penalties early in the game. The O-line are not rookies they know better than that. WR need to get seperation. I think Shurmur’s offense gameplan needs recievers to break tackles. I can’t take all this losing. And for the defense. All the players need to chant SUH SUH SUH!!

by phxsuns on Dec 13, 2009 6:22 PM CST reply actions

Things I learned today

Fisher is a complete douche
Rams defense isn’t completely imcompetent
Null is calm cool and collected, but needs experience (altho I didn’t learn that last part)
Cogs is still the biggest loose cannon I have seen since the old Raider days
and Spags IS willing to try the unknown guys to

by CoachConnors on Dec 13, 2009 6:22 PM CST reply actions

...to see what they've got in game situations, which is different from practice!

he had said he wouldn’t…so I was mildly surprised when he changed that up and put him in

by CoachConnors on Dec 13, 2009 6:23 PM CST up reply actions

do you mean

why spags put in Null? I read that Bollers leg was bothering him and he wasn’t ready to go. I believe it was on Stlouisrams.com not sure though.
