Random Ramsdom: Dec. 10th, 2009
- A look at the luckiest teams in the league (thanks to Jeff at Ramsgab). Even with an expected 2.9 wins for the season, we are still way below our expected total. It's that bad.
- Will at Ramsherd making the case for more Null.
- Speaking of young QB's, the Rams just signed Mike Reilly. He was a D2 star who never had a game where he didn't throw for at least one TD.
- Mike Sando is asking a question that's been kicked around here- is the Rams offense too conservative?
- Speaking of bad offenses, Steve Korte has some stats for 2009. How bad are they? The last time they had such a bad offense, they only played 10 games a year. And the team was based in Cleveland.

That is a hell of a piece on Null.
The more he doesn’t play (and, more noteably, the more Kyle Boller does play) the more I’m scratching my head about it.
At this point, they aren’t going to ruin him going forward like they would have if they had named him starter early in the season. Expectations are down and our line blocks well enough to protect him.
Utilize Jackson, utilize the play action and pump fake (frusterating), and give him an opportunity to play with the other young guys on the team.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
Spags agrees: You never know until you put him out there and see
So why does he say he hopes Null doesn’t get any playing time? Cmon Spags.
Why worry about ruining him if you think he isn’t going to play for your team anyway? Go ahead and ruin him, then draft your guy next year anyway, what’s ruining him going to cost you? He’ll be someone else’s damaged goods.
But you won’t ruin him if you just give him some snaps witht he first team over the next few weeks. This isn’t David Carr’s Texans. And his psyche probably isn’t that fragile.
I think it's more a vote of confidence in Boller (or a show of confidence, maybe?)
than a lack of confidence in Null.
The way Spags sees it, the only way Null will get in (and he’s pretty much said this since Bulger got hurt) is if Boller is injured. Obviously, he’s not going to wish injury on one of his players so if he says he “hopes” Null doesn’t play, he’s saying he “hopes” Boller doesn’t get hurt since that’s the only way Null will get into the game.
I don’t agree with it this “strategy” and I think he chose his words wrongly, but I think I understand what he’s saying.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
