My Poor Rams...
Every sunday it gets tougher and tougher.
Poor Bulger....the man has been taking a beating these past few years. He is one tough guy i can say that much. I wish him the best going forward....
I dont know about you guys, but I MISS LAURENT ROBISNON. He really was shaping into a go to guy for the rams.
I like the kid Gibson. Hes gonna get better going forward. Hopefully next year we can get Robinson, Gibson, Avery, and Amendola together at the same time. They could really blossom as a unit next year.
All in all this year has been tough. I will always wear my rams jersey and keychain every monday...win or lose. I hear about "My sorry Lambs" all the time but i dont care. This team is headed in the right direction and just watch when they become a winning franchise....im gonna get the last laugh. Everyone will remember who was the ONE guy who always stayed true to his team and never stopped wearing his SJax jersey screaming Go Rams! every sunday...

Atta boy!
I’m happy to know I’m not the only one sporting Rams gear on Mondays! Last Monday (after New Orleans), I sported the Marc Bulger jersey. I’m surprised to find and talk to many Rams’ fans on campus. Keep it up! I’m proud to stand by fellow Rams fans! 2010 baby!

I hate to rain on the party...
…but I’m 54 years old and sick to my gut of hearing people talk about 4-5 years down the road. I want some progress NOW! We haven’t had a winning season since 2003. The main thing about 3-5 years from now is that SJax will be done. Howz that for a happy thought?
Well I want progress now too
but that’s impossible. I say wait until the season after next and we’ll have a winning season and still have Jackson for a couple more years possibly.
Can't think of a good sig
Here's the thing edpjr
If you can tell me how we can win our last 5 games this year and have a winning season next year in a reasonable fashion I will listen. You want to know why people here are talking about 3-5 years down the road, because that’s the state of our team. The Rams have been a poorly managed organization for years. It takes more than a year to turn around an organization like this one.
I’ve been reading TST for a while now. I don’t contribute that often, because I’m just not much of a blogger. I come to TST because I love the Rams and I enjoy seeing what the folks here have to say about my Rams. One thing I have noticed is that you are continually making comments about how bad you think the Rams are, and how you hate we are on this 3-5 year plan. It is what it is, do you think anyone here likes seeing the Rams losing all these games? Of course we don’t, you aren’t the only one. It’s not like I’m rooting for us to look badly and lose 15 games this year. I want to see us play well too.
I’m 28, and been a life long Rams fan. I remember the 90’s very well. You remember, the decade in which we had the 2nd most losses in the NFL only behind the Bungels, but than what happend in ‘99? The Rams got turned around, and we became one of the most successful franchises in the NFL for about 3-5 years. That success is what you/we became accustomed to, and now that’s what we expect. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t expect success, but a Rams fan, of anyone, should be able to understand that a winning organization is not something you can have overnight after years of bad management.
We all want a winning team now, but it’s not in the cards. It will take time, but it will happen.

Since you asked, here are a few things I'd try to turn around things next year...
1. Release Bulger, Barron, Gado, Darby, Carriker, Little, Long, and McMichael
2. Try to acquire either Brady Quinn or Michael Vick for QB
3. Draft Suh if at all possible
4. Fire Shurmur and hire Mike Martz back as OC. While he’s a wild man, he could help Spags overcome some of his silly ass decisions that cost us games this year.
5. Trade some 2010 and 2011 picks for proven NFL players. We won’t get stars but we might get a capable backup for SJax and 1-2 decent D-Linemen.
6. Offer up Chris Long for trade and see if there’s any interest.
7. Get some capable strength and conditioning coaches. We have way too many injuries.
Also, our age difference makes us view the Rams in a totally different light. You remember the bums from 1990-98. I remember the team that won 7 consecutive NFC West Titles in the 70s, that went the the SB in 1980, that made the playoffs in 83-86, 88-89.
I'd roll the dice on Quinn before I would Vick.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
My wife's uncle...
…lived in Lakeland Fla since WWII. He was a big fan of the TB Bucs from 1976 right up to his death the year before they won the SB. :-)
Same with the 70s...
…but dang it was fun winning 10-12 games every year. We should’ve made it to the SB in 1974, but a bad call cost us the game and we lost to the Vikes 14-10. We executed a long pass play down to the 1/2 yard line. Failed to get it in on the 1st running attempt. Then All-Pro Tom Mack was called for a bs false start and the ball went back to the 5 1/2. James Harris then tried a pass that was intercepted in the endzone – game over.
As much as I respect my elders ed...
…Brady Quinn or Michael Vick?
I don’t care how young Quinn is, or how dysfunctional the Browns are, but he has never posted a rating over 70 and couldn’t beat Derek Anderson cleanly for the starting job.
Even without the legal baggage, Michael Vick is clearly a few steps slower than he once was, and his abilities as a pocket passer have always been average as best, rendering him useless in my mind.
I’m not ready to give up on Long yet either, or Bulger for that matter, especially if the likes of Brady Quinn/Mike Vick/Jason Campbell are the alternatives.
I do agree with draft Suh, the strength and conditioning coaches, and possibly Martz, if for nothing else but the fact that I think he’s brilliant.

I fear hiring Martz would create a mess around Rams park that they simply
can’t, or shouldn’t, get themselves into.
Too much baggage with that guy. I like him, I always have, but I don’t think he’d be a good fit.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
My gosh man...
Bulger’s history anyway you cut it. Even if he recovers fully from his concussions and broke leg, the Rams aren’t gonna pay him $9.5M next year. He’ll likely be a veteran b/u QB somewhere for $1-2M.
Damn ED
Hope management is reading. Works for me

I sure agree we need to get rid of Shurmur.
He is the worst excuse for an offensive coach I have ever seen. I can’t believe he isn’t already gone. Loyalty to your coaching staff is a fine quality for a head coach, but recognizing when someone is in over his head and replacing him with a better alternative is more important. I don’t know that we need to go all the way to the other extreme with Mike Martz, but surely there is someone out there who could do a better job. How about Weiss now that he is out as Notre Dame?
We still have way too many weak spots on the team to expect a winning record, but there is no reason to put up with such a poor offensive scheme.
For now, I'm afraid all we're good for is to possibly revive Jay Cutler's career...
Heck, our whole team is injured. But I’d rather have a high draft pick than beat another bad team like the Bears this year.
Atogwe should be licking his chops
Cutler is an INT machine (especially in the Red Zone) this year…….and last year.
Also, the Bears pretty much refuse to protect Cutler. I’m predicting another Long sack this weekend. (it really is too bad Pace is hurt, he’s pretty much been a turnstile this year).
The Bears are very beatable. Their QB has zero confidence in his line and he makes horrible decisions. They can’t run the ball at all. They have big lapses with their old defense especially in the first quarter (and they give up a shit ton of yards and time of possession). Then, they’ve got a dipshit redneck linebacker who is out for the year but can’t stop from taking pot shots at their QB. Oh, and their coaching staff has their heads buried in the sand refusing to acknowledge that there is anything wrong.
That team is right on the boarder of becoming a complete mess.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
Don't forget the amount of high draft picks they gave up for Cutler
They pretty much screwed themselves over there. Bears are in a deep downward spiral.
Can't think of a good sig
maybe they'd be looking to trade picks
this year?

I wish we had Cutler...
Theoretically, next year with Barron and McMichael gone and a front five consisting of Smith, Brown, Incognito, Bell, Setts and/or Goldberg, we might be able to somewhat protect a QB. That would sure be a new thing for the Rams. There should also be some capable receivers like Avery, Robinson, Gibson and Burton to throw too.
Weis would help
Charlie Weis is actually a very good OC and QB coach, he would probably be a great fit for Chicago. I can’t knock what the man has proven to do well, just because he wasn’t the answer at Head Coach for Notre Dame, and he will most assuredly be back in the NFL at some point. Lovie needs to just worry about his Defense and adding playmakers besides Urlacher. Losing SS Mike Brown hurt them badly, and with Urlacher out they’re too thin to compete.
rams keep loosing!!!!! Yes!!!!
I hope the come in last every year. Unless, the come back home to LA> Please come back home, you belong on grass. Bunch of crap when the Rams moved. Until then, keep loosing every darn game.
