Our coach sucks I have wrote this before even he agrees now that he is making mistakes. I dont think that us as rams fans should have to go through this for another 2 more years. And for u people that r talking about patiance I have none after losing for 5 years. This coach was brought in cause he was the cheapist the rams owners could bring in, once again he sucks. All u people think its bulger, look at what he has to work with a rookie sorry ass coach, even sorryer ass offensive coach, no quearter back coach, no offensive line and no wide recievers. i dont care what quearterback in the NFL could do good with the coaching staff that the rams have. So as far as Iam concernd u can pack ur bags and ur coaching staff and get on! Just think about it ram nation arent u tired of loseing I am

That explains everything. I couldn’t be our players who shouldn’t be in the NFL or anything like that. A good coach should be able to take a rebuilding franchise from 2-14 to 14-2. If he can’t do that, he must be a terrible coach. And he must be the cheapest available, at 4 years 11.5 million. Thats around 3 million a year. Josh McDaniels was cheaper at 4 years 8 million. Thats a million less a year. Rex Ryan is making the same amount. He is one of the highest if not the highest paid rookie head coach (some contract details aren’t made available). And since you lost your patience, we should cut ties with the head of the rebuild, which is in fact headed in the right direction. You even said it in your argument, we have no O-line (which I also disagree with) and no receivers, so how is a coach going to help us win with no players? Wait until we get some players before you start judging Spagnuolo. Research some of your facts before you use them in arguments, because they help more if they are actually correct.

If the rams were playing next year's schedule this year
the turnaround would have been unbelievable.
Next year, we play the AFC West and the NFC South (If I’m not mistaken).
If we had played those teams this year, that would have meant, Oakland, Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Carolina, Atlanta (not looking so good recently), and San Diego (terrible in the first 5 games of the season). Let’s say then the Rams win 3-4 of those games.
Now look at who we had to play this year. We had Green Bay (when they were playing well), Minnesota, Colts, and the Saints (those three were undefeated btw). Also, notice these 4 games were all home games. When 4 of your home games are AUTOMATIC LOSSES, it really sucks, especially for a rebuilding team. If we had Jacksonville at home, we win that game as well. Same goes for the Redskins game. So we have one victory at this point this season. If we had played the schedule next year/gotten certain games at home, the Rams could be a 5 or 6 win team right now.
Keep in mind exactly why Miami was able to go from 1-15 to 11-5
look at the schedules from those two years.
Hope we play in Oakland.
I want to see a win firsthand.

The coach isn't the problem
IMO. We do have a certain ‘lack of talent’ on the team. It’s easy to point the finger, but w/out some of the players taking personal responsiblity for their performance we will never get anywhere. Take for example Barron and Incog; both had a talking to from Spags. Who took it to heart and got their poor performance’s under control? Cogs has really stepped up IMO over recent years. He, so far, has turned up the volume. Barron on the other hand didn’t take it to heart and his performance on the field shows. Obviously Barron shouldn’t be here next year, but Cogs should. Coach did and does his job, but certain players may not be coachable. Just my observation…
Madden gives us a
3 out of 3 on the pregame screen in coaching! That proves our coaching staff is awesome.

The rams completely clean house administratively, (thats the GM, VP of personnel, etc.)
Then they fire the entire coaching staff, meaning the players get to learn new schemes on both sides of the ball.
On top of all of that they then cut 40% of the roster, including the only pro-bowlers on the team.
So yeah you are right, it is all the head coaches fault that we are where we are. I should have been a better fan and came to this epiphany earlier…

My perspective has completely changed now. I just figured out I’m a fool, and therefore know nothing about football. And Bill Parcells could turn a pee wee team into a Superbowl contender. Because it doesn’t matter what players you have, a good coach should make a team good enough to go to the Superbowl. Why pay first round draft picks in free agents, when you could just sign a bunch of UDFAs and win 13 games.

Alright first of all
I said I know its our record less than 30 seconds after my first comment. Look at the times on the comments, and calling someone stupid over and over does not help your argument at all. Now I will break down what makes me not an idiot:
1. Being literate
2. Using proper grammar and punctuation
3. Making arguments that have to do with football and not attacking someones intelligence when you can’t even follow rules 1 and 2.
So before you go running off to dictionary.com to figure what the word literate means maybe you should think about being useful and contributing to this site and its community, and actually say something useful that has to do with football. Something that not saying, “That thurr coach is bad, I could do more better than he ever done did.” If you can’t do that, then I don’t know why you bother posting, nobody is going to take your posts seriously if you don’t put some thought and facts into it.

and with the team the way it is, it’s hard no matter who the coach is. Give Spags time. I honestly like him a lot better than Martz or Linehan. The team seems to like him too. I think he’ll be good in the long run, as long as the team is committed to rebuilding.

Spagnuola would not have been my first choice as head coach with guys like Cowher, Shanahan, Gruden, Billick, etc. hanging out there. But, in all honesty, Spags had virtually NOTHING to work with at the start. Maybe SJax, Jason Brown, Josh Brown, Butler and a couple rookies. Not much else for sure. How would you like to takeover a team where the last four 1st round draft picks were Barron, Tye Hill, Carriker and Chris Long? And, with a washed up QB and nothing that even resembles a mediocre D-Line? It took balz to take the job. So we have to cut him some slack. But I want to see some real improvement next year…

Well said my man! Now that is putting things in perspective. Crap, if it wasn’t bad enough that those were our last 4 1st rounders. How about the fact that two 2nd rounders Klop, and Leonard are no longer with the team. It is no shock that the drastic rebuilding is taking place. I still have my fingers crossed on Long and Smith. We need cornerstones….bad.

Um…no. Those guys aren’t coaching for a reason. Most of them don’t/didn’t want to coach this year. I’m not real positive why Gruden is still out of a job (although, I’m glad the Rams job is one that he doesn’t have), since it seems like he’s always wanted back in to the NFL.
And from what I’ve heard, Shanahan doesn’t want to leave Denver. His family lives there and all of his business interests are in Denver. So, he’s not too keen on leaving.
Cowher? Sure, I’d take him, but I’m not sure how eager he is to return. He might be getting closer, but he sure as heck wasn’t returing last year.
Either way, coaches have to come from somewhere. You can’t always recycle the old ones. They were new and wet behind the ears at one point too.
Nevertheless, I do agree that it’s really unfair to completely and fairly evaluate Spags since the team was not NFL worthy when he took it over. That’s the fault of the previous regime and he should be allowed leniency to right the ship, which is something I think most of us can say we’ve seen happening.

I defended Spags...
and will continue to cut him some more slack because of our terrible roster of untalented players. However, the Rams of old fired George Allen after a 9-4-1 season and his successor; Tommy Prothro, only made it for two years being dumped after 8-5-1 and 6-7-1 finishes. Chuck Know was run out of town on a rail in 1977 when we went 10-6 but lost to Vikes in the playoffs. Ray Malavasi took us to our 1st SB and was unceremoniously dumped 2 years later. And we all know Scott Linehan should’ve been gone after his 2nd season and taken Haslett with him. IMHO, idiotic coaching decisions contributed significantly to our losses to Wash, Jax, NO and today. We could’ve actually won 3-4 games this year.
