Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams, Nov 22, 2009 3:05 PM CST
Kurt Warner is 25-4 at the Ed Jones Dome. The Rams are 0-5 at the Dome this season. We need a home win, and wouldn't this be the perfect way to get it?

I just hope the team doesn't get embarrassed
I’m seeing them on TV for the first time in ages. I’d like to see the Rams compete.
Best moment I've ever seen at a game in person
Looking forward to Cardinals baseball in 2010!

I posted this in the other thread, but I'll throw it in here for good measure...
The Cardinals’ Big Three receiving corps has combined for 50 regular-season 100-yard receiving games (Anquan Boldin 25, Larry Fitzgerald 22, Steve Breaston 3). The Rams’ five receivers have a combined two 100-yard games (Donnie Avery 1, Ruvell Martin 1).

Starting WR
At WR alongside Donnie Avery, the Rams are listing Danny Amendola as the starter ahead of Brandon Gibson.
Don’t read too much into it.

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

Well
You have to assume we’re going to lean on Jackson now. If we don’t, you risk horrendous field position. Plus, we’ve shown a tendency for conservative O when it gets tough.
Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

in OT.
Big Ben got hurt (bell rung) on a scramble.
They then drove a bit but had to punt. KC took over and got like 15 yards then threw a 7 yard crossing pattern that went for like 60 yards to the PIT 1 yard line. FG on the next play.
had to be embarrassing for Pit fans but the Steelers have lost some head-scratchers this year.

It's not as much "flat"
as it is we’re getting absolutely owned in the trenches. Arizona’s Oline has made both facets of their offenses WAY too easy, and their D-line has kept Steven Jackson (and therefore the entire Rams O) in check.

He’s been piss poor today, and what reasoning do we have to play him? Sure, he’s more accurate than Boller or Null, but Avery doesn’t need accurate passes on his hands, McMichael hasn’t been able to catch much this season, and Brandon Gibson looks like he can catch anything.

This "sellout" crowd –- actually about 75 percent capacity –- is booing Rams QB Marc Bulger. Against the 30th-ranked pass defense in the league, he's thrown for 47 yards at the two-minute warning of the first half.
Sad state of affairs.

I'm pretty sure they're booing the entire team...
…I mean, I don’t know how responsible Bulger is for S-Jax getting stuffed or the penalties that have killed drives before they started.

The rule states that if a third quarterback is inserted before the fourth quarter, a team's first two quarterbacks cannot be used in the game at any position.
by FunkeeC on Nov 22, 2009 4:38 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Here's something else
The emergency (third) quarterback may now enter the game in just the fourth quarter, regardless if the other two quarterbacks are able to play. This means that if the third string quarterback enters the game, the first and/or second quarterback may re-enter, unlike the past two seasons where the emergency quarterback would only play off the first two were unable to resume play.

NFL’S “third-quarterback” rule — sometimes misunderstood:
Seventeen years ago (1991) the third-quarterback rule was instituted to enable teams to have an emergency quarterback available who was not on the 45-man game-day active roster, since many teams, for strategic purposes, only carried two quarterbacks on their game-day roster.
Everybody thinks they understand the NFL’s “third-quarterback” rule. But do they?
The rule states that if a third quarterback is inserted before the fourth quarter, a team’s first two quarterbacks cannot be used in the game at any position.
Another aspect of the rule is sometimes misunderstood. It is a coach’s decision as to whether a third quarterback will be used.
The active quarterbacks do not have to be injured for a team to use its third quarterback.
by jb22 on Nov 22, 2009 4:38 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
So it depends on whether Null is listed as active on the gameday roster or not.
by Ghostrider520 on Nov 22, 2009 4:39 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Depends in this case.
I’m not sure who are active 45 are. Since Ah You and Burton went on IR, I’m not sure who we would’ve activated.
by Ghostrider520 on Nov 22, 2009 4:41 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
under no situation would your #3 QB not be inactive
he’s there for emergency purposes only
he’s allowed to come in without taking up a spot on the 45 man roster, so why would you put him on your 45 when you dont have to, unless he was like Michael Vick and you wanted to use him periodically in the game
by jb22 on Nov 22, 2009 4:43 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
If they don't have anyone else that they want to activate, they might have activated him.
I understand what you’re saying, but what I am saying is that I don’t know that the Rams had 45 players this week that they wanted to activate.
