About damn time. I understand he's not the top-line WR we need, but we gave up an important player to get this kid, along with a 5th round pick, and are ready to see what he has to offer.

If you follow the PAC-10 then you may already know this but...

if you don’t, and I don’t normally follow it very closely here’s some info I gathered when the Rams first traded Witherspoon for him:

While at Washington State University Brandon Gibson finished college as the school’s all-time leading receiver with 2,756 yards and 182 receptions along with 17 touchdowns and earned a varsity letter all four years he was at WSU.

He was named All-Pacific-10 Conference honorable mention and the team Offensive Most Valuable Player. In 2008 he caught 57 passes for 673 yards and two touchdowns.

As a junior, he started 11 games and was named to Phil Steele’s All-America Third Team. Also he was First-team All-Pac-10 honors. He set the WSU single-season record for receiving yards in a season with 1,180 on 67 receptions. He also led the team with nine touchdowns are tied for third in the Cougars’ single-season list.

In his second year he led the Cougars with 731 yards and was second on the squad in both receptions (49) and touchdowns (four).

Even as a freshman Gibson earned a varsity letter after playing in 10 of the Cougars’ 11 games during his debut season. He ended the season with 9 catches for 172 yards with a 19.2 yard per catch average and 2 touchdowns.

There ya have it…

Go Rams!

Read it again.

Van said we got “this kid, along with a 5th round pick”. It’s worded strangely but we got him and the pick for Spoon.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Per the Rams Official site:

Under Brandon Gibson’s player page:

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired with [a fifth round] draft choice by St. Louis from Philadelphia in exchange for LB Will Witherspoon (10/20/09)…selected by Philadelphia in the sixth round (194th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft (4/26/09).

So yes, we did receive a fifth round pick. We did not give one up.

that being said

I’m still anxious to see what this kid can bring to the table. Hopefully he’ll benefit from other teams concentrating on Avery and Burton. We certainly need him to.

Yep, we have

high expectations. I hope he doesn’t dissapoint. Also, let’s not forget the injured Ruvell Martin, our most exprienced receiver…still waiting to see him play as well.

Cheez--

Every week looks like the NFL Draft week. So many players coming and going, going and coming—Rams surly have to issue name-tags to the players.
