Thank you Rams fans
In all seriousness, thank you for a great week of blogging leading up to Sunday's game. As I told 3K and VanRam many moons ago on one of their excellent podcasts, the Rams are re-building and part of that process is getting beaten badly by good teams. We went through it for two loooooooooong seasons in 1997 and 1998.
The Rams have a great back and some good pieces on defenses. DO NOT GIVE UP ON CHRIS LONG! None other than Bill Polian himself talked about how Long was a difference maker on defense. If Polian is saying that, then start looking to point fingers at the coaches if Long doesn't develop. He has the tools, and they pay coaches a lot of money to develop those tools.
I also like your new left tackle, Jason Smith. Don't start comparing him to Michael Oher, who is on a team with a much stronger base of players. The Rams have the building blocks to start moving in the right direction. Now, they need a real franchise QB, and they will be set.
Thanks for the great blogging and the excellent questions. Also, congrats to 3K on the birth of his new baby daughter.

I wish I had been around this week

Honestly I think the Michael Oher thing is way overblown. He got whooped bu Dwight Freeney last week as well. Oher is going to end up being a decent RT, but he was pretty brutal at LT last week. He also has a couple of false starts, three hits on the QB and four tackles for loss on his side on run plays

Do you mean
Jarad Allan? I do not believe the colts have played the ravens yet and actually Michel didn’t do too bad in my opinion for a rookie. Maybe not good enough to have a disney movie about him comeing out nov 20th but he has alot of heart and is a tough s.o.b

Thanks for the write up BigBlueShoe
It was very classy and well said. I have to be honest, if there is another besides the Rams that I will root for in this league, it is the Colts. The Colts are a great organization and have a great core of players that I just enjoy watching. Thanks again BigBlueShoe.

BigBlue many thanks
It’s a privilege to read posts by a non-Ram fan who knows football like you do. It might be a while before we see your team again, but when we do, maybe it will be a better game. Even though we got blown out, I can sense you would rather have seen a good competitive football game… take care BigBlue and many thanks once again!

Thanks Big Blue
I guess if we have to have the crap kicked out of us, it feels a little bit better when it comes from a classy group like you have over in Indy. We have such a long way to go, sometimes it seems like we’ll never get up off the ground.
Good luck to you guys in the AFC…I think you got your division under control for the most part…as long as you beat the Patriots, all will be good!

Long and Smith difference makers???
Yeah, but for which team? You must’ve been smoking some good stuff…. I prefer things the way they were in 2001 when we beat Peyton and you guys like 45-17.

I think we need a lot more than just a franchise QB
Im not liking any of the QBs coming out in this draft, i hope we find a guy in the second or third round that we can get, like a Joe Flacco type.
Id rather spend a 1st rounder on Dez Bryant or Ndomakong Suh, or that safety who’s name I can’t remember

I just wish
we could see what Null can do… who knows in all honesty… could be a diamond in the rough… he made some nice plays in pre-season, nice looking ball.

I’d support an Eric Berry choice in the draft. Dude’s awesome.
"The part of the roster where most of the money is spent, though, is on free agents and guys acquired through trade — guys Sabean did play a big role in acquiring. And they are not good. When you get 2/5 of a pitching rotation for free, you would think you could do better with $76 million than to field the league’s worst offense."

One of our big problems
continues to be the play calling. I was watching the WRs from both teams on 3rd and 6 to see what patterns they ran. The Colt receivers regularly ran 8 yard routes so when they caught the ball they had a first down. Our guys regularly ran 4 yard routes and, if they happened to catch the ball they were tackled short of the first down. On one 3rd and 6 or so I counted no less than three of our receivers running crossing patterns within three yards of the line of scrimmage. What in heck are we doing??? When the other team has 8 guys in the box to begin with, do we really thinking running receivers through the heart of that packed defense is going to allow our guys to get yards after the catch to make a first down? Before we worry about getting better players, we need to get an offensive coordinator who understands offense, or having better players won’t matter.
