Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

So just to recap, a horse collar tackle on Percy Harvin will cost you $2,500 more than a cheap shot after the play that takes out a DT for the season. The logic of the NFL is tough to understand by the normal human mind...

This is a

disgrace to the league IMHO. I do agree with the fine on Quincy, however the fine on the MN player for the cheap arse shot on Gary was total farse, one the league should be embarrassed about.

Ridiculous...

What a joke…as if Quincy/Gary Gibson aren’t having a rough enough year. They’re just protecting Vikings players. The fine they gave Favre earlier was for added publicity. It was your typical token star fine. This is sad. Gibson was playing really well along with Ryan (who is having a really good year IMO). But poor little Percy gets an HC and it’s more expensive than Gary’s season. What a joke.

But hey

When Ray Lewis headhunts Ochocinco, it’s 25k. What is this scale?

Lewis'

was 2 infractions.

The league deemed that Lewis “unnecessarily kicked the opponent” and later “unnecessarily struck a defenseless receiver.”

Probably 10k for kicking and 15k for hitting a defenseless reciever. I argue that the recievers can defend themselves if they choose to, they just prefer to catch the ball.

THIS year's the year. I hope....

I didn't see the play

It appears to be at the end of a 27-yard return, though. Did Butler actually take him down hard? Was Harvin already slowed up by anyone else?

It wasn't hard

but it was definitely a horse collar. And nobody had slowed him up. A fair flag, and a fair fine, IMO, just not in light of the treatment of Hicks.

I guess if you judged by intent, more players would just act like they didn’t mean to horse collar the guy. I’m hoping that this was just an innocent mistake on Butler’s part. Too bad he didn’t Harvin’s season, though….eye for an eye? (I think I’m joking on that one, still ticked off about Gibson, though.)

What's hard to understand?

Obviously Quincy is penalized more because that form of tackle could result in the player who’s being tackled to suffer some sort of knee injury that could be season or career threatening. Players can really get injured from those tackles. What if that tackle would have caused an injury?

Wait a minute……….

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

what a joke

the fine is fair, but in light of hicks’ it’s a joke.

We're just gonna have to suck it up-

It’s going to happen to us for now because of who we are. Having Gibson go down like he did was bad enough, but I was really, really ticked off (Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) because in the photo that showed Gibson going down, also showed Hall being tackled by that gerk-off McKinney then pumping his knees in Halls back! AND NO FLAG!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

Agreed

But that doesn’t mean I can’t rail on the NFL for this one.

Agreed

because whether or not its true doesn’t make it right.
